Detailed Reviews
Pousada de Coloane is a breath of pure air in the usual pollution of Macau. Located in Coloane, dominating the small Cheoc Van beach, surrounded bu trees, and nearby hills, this pousada offers you the traditional shelter of Portuguese hospitality. Despite being a little bit old and lacking some needed modernization, the pousada is still charming, offers a unique large terrace, garden and swimming pool, a mosaic of very nice areas. The restaurant is only right: nothing is exceptional, although the food follows the traditional Portuguese cuisine; the wine list is short, as well as the beer offerings. Nonetheless, it is a perfect place to rest, to eat, to enjoy friendship, and to regard the wonders of the Pearl River mouth.

I spend two nights in this hotel with my family recently and can recommend it for service, view, restaurant, and kid-friendly pool. Good wi-fi signal throughout the hotel and pool area, comfortable bed, and excellent friendly, professional service. Located above Cheok Van beach, this boutique hotel features beach access and spectacular sea views. The hotel restaurant which offers a typical Portuguese menu is really the only option for dining apart from ordering delivery. Fortunately, anyone who enjoys Portuguese cuisine will be happy to dine there as the food and service are excellent. Breakfast buffet with a good selection of Western breakfast fare including an omelette bar was included with our room and is also recommended. On the downside, this boutique hotel is in desperate need of renovation. The jacuzzi in the room was broken and the bathroom door frame was rotted out. The carpets were filthy and in need of replacement. We took advantage of a cut rate due to COVID, but otherwise not recommended to pay the normal rate considering the deteriorated condition of the property. All in all, highly recommended for families with children seeking an escape from the casino hotels and the city.
All in all, highly recommended and most especially for families with kids.

We have stayed in this hotel for only 1 night, but we would rather like to stay longer. The hotel grounds are very well maintained, everything is clean and very nice decorated.
The room is in a classic Portuguese style, it is really spacious and comfortable.
We really enjoyed the hotel pool, which was perfect in a hot day. It was not overcrowded during the day, so you can take a rest here and relax.
The breakfast was also very good, with a good variety of food, including fresh omelettes. The hotel restaurant is also a nice place to enjoy a dinner. They have also a live music on a terrace sometimes.
The hotel is outside the city center, but it is not a problem and you can reach the center of Macao easily by the public transport.
This was the last night on our trip to Hongkong and Macao and it was perfect.

Food and service are sub-standard compared to similar restaurants in the same price range in Macau. Waiters almost always get orders wrong, bring the same dish twice etc.
The location is great, views are nice but more than espresso or water is not recommended.

Been coming here a long time and my wife and I have always found the place charming, if a little quirky and threadbare.
But what is quirky at HK$800 a night becomes supremely annoying at the HK$1700 we wound up paying this past weekend.
The pathway to the lobby had flooded in the rain, with no sign to warn people, so my shoes got soaked as we arrived.
Our room had no coffee cups, no room-service menu, hideous white lightbulbs, the tv only got 8 channels and the phone couldn’t call out. Some of these things could be fixed (not the lights or the phone) but each required a call to the front desk and a wait.
Finally, it would have been nice to hear “happy anniversary” or even just “welcome back.” We’ve probably stayed there a dozen times over our nearly 10 years in Hong Kong, and I did indicate before we arrived that we were celebrating. But the only communication from the hotel was a terse note the day before we arrived saying we couldn’t check in before 3pm.
The whole vibe just felt unfriendly and cold, and it left such a bad taste in our mouths that we are unlikely to return—even if the prices come back down. Pity.

Room Tip: It’s hard to get a taxi here, and they don’t like to drive up the driveway. Better to take the bus.

+1
This place is for people who enjoy nature, the beach, good affordable food and simplicity in life. Breakfast food in a little carried but good. You can also dine here for lunch and dinner. We recommend the African chicken dish, because its sauce is so delicious. Knowing what to choose what to eat is a fantastic way to make the most of what the place has to offer of great quality. The rooms were clean and the bed comfy. The room during the day can be lit just with natural light but if you're concerned with light getting through in the morning, there is nothing to worry, because there are good curtains to avoid that happening. Enjoy your stay and what nature has to offer.

I'm very disappointed. I arrived around 3 pm and I want to rest and sleep but no bathroom set up, so I preferred to call but the phone is not working, So I go out of my room and go up to raise my concern to get my bathroom set up and to fix the phone, someone tries to fix the phone for approximately 30 mins but can't fix it, so he left without any phone connection telling that maybe tomorrow, i can't order for room service so I decided to go out and check outside if there's any convenience store, given that i'm first time in this area i dont have any idea where to go so i go back in our room and i want to charge my phone but i left my cord so i need to borrow to reception but because we dont have phone in my room so i need to go up again😏.
Actually, we plan to extend our stay here but i changed my mind, i cannot recommend this to my friends and relatives

Exceptional service. Brought back fond memories of when we visited from Hong Kong.
Went to sleep to the sound of waves and woke up to the sounds of birds!
Not so happy with the steep driveway, but we know we can take steps on the side.
Only 3 in 1 coffee in room- no coffee without sugar!
Bathrobe for very petite guests - On checking out I learnt I could ask for a larger size!

after a long tiring week at work i decided to visit and to relax at cheoc van beach with friends, for the convenience we decided to check in at pousada hotel for our belongings and to sleep after relaxing in the beach, the receptionist named “ joao” tall white guy with curly hair and eye glasses. Very unprofessional manner and racist how he treated us. I remember i was standing infront of him with a two portuguese people in the other side, He is very friendly and approachable to white people while me he didn’t even gave a glimpse of smile. the way he talk to us and the entire time of our staying i didn’t heared him saying “excuse me” or im so sorry”. for example: we were sitting and waiting for him to comedown for the key, he came like someone else . he just said to us “here is your key and the room is 205.

Celebrated my birthday in here. the ambience is good and and also the place as it was beside the beach. food at breakfast are not in the right temperature, congee are cold. it's good for an early bird riser, but if you are a night owl you will get pissed at the sound of the trolley wheels of the housekeeping in the morning. You can hear it very loudly. also the receptionist is polite. but didn't even offer us a ride (which i know they have a car for hire) when it's pouring rain outside when we checked out. or even offer us an umbrella. The place is good, but i will never come back. the swimming pool is good though.

Hello,
thanks for choosing Pousada. In our rooms we have only a kettel. however you can always request in our hotel restaurant to heat up your baby food with "bain marie" or microwave.
regards
Pousada management
Hi, the message is wrong. we are openning normally, welcom to stay in our hotel.
Hello Mr. Yin
We do have a van with 6 seats that can be pre-booked and can drive you to anywhere in Macau. The fee is different for each location. Not much more expensive than a taxi. Some periods of the day is very hard to request for a taxi.
Best regards
Pousada management.

Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, United Kingdom4 contributions2 helpful votesHi
Does the shuttle bus meet the ferry. Also where does the shuttle run to ?
Alexeich, that what we did too. The Venetian lot was a complete zoo but we eventually figured out how to find the right bus stop (it's across the road, over the bridge). The driver didn't know the hotel either, so we almost missed it, it's not well signed. Tell them "Cheok Van Beach" and they'll know where to let you off.
Sandra, we tried getting the shuttle but it was too difficult. Three different people told us 3 different things and finally we figured out it wasn't running at all that day. You might have better luck if you talk to the hotel and get a real firm confirmation. If you take a taxi, at least catch a free shuttle as far south as you can, the taxi will be a lot cheaper from there.
