Detailed Reviews
We checked in around 2pm on june 20 and once we were in the main entrance, there is a very rude security who doesnt want us to go inside. He was a bit disrespectful and not polite and pointing outside to us he even stopped me when I was about to go inside, when we got a chance to talk to him we told him that we are checking in and he suddenly changed his attitude towards us but the thing is, he should be very welcoming to guests and not rude.
Other than the security wverything was fine the staff at the front desk, the house keeping and even the room are very nice. It is very luxurious.
We booked this room for our friends birthday as a surprise.
Finally, the whole experience is nice but the only thing is the security at the entrance.

Have not been back for a year, the Landmark Macau has definetely surprised me ! Three surprises during my one night stay at the Landmark Macau was overwhelming. The hotel check -in was prompt and my room 1602 was ready. Ms. Michelle , the duty manager was kind enough to direct me to my room. Second surprise was the welcome chrysanthemum tea with honey was refreshing after an hour cruise from HongKong. The third surprise was when Mr. Mike Lin, the assistant Director of Rooms came to wish farewell. He and his team look forward to my return in July. I believe in the kind hotel hospitality and prompt service. I will definitely make a return to the Landmark Macau in July. Thank you Mr. Lin, Michelle and everyone at the Landmark Macau for making my stay a pleasant and memorable one !

This is a 5* hotel as recommended by the travel agency. Well located in the city of Macau but is quite old. Lift lobby to the hotel rooms is located on the 6th floor so the lobby is not crowd like the others. Soft drinks and water in the mini bar are free. Choices for breakfast is very limited. overall impression is not bad but I don't think this is a real 5* deluxe hotel as mentioned in the map of the Macau from the tourist information counter.

I understand most of the hotels have policies during this covid pandemic.. including guests who are coming from China needs to do the the Nucleic Acid tests with results. However, this hotel never informed us that we have to do the Nucleic acid test with results upon checking in eventhough we never left Macau. When we asked them why it is not what is written in their hotel policy, they said they just changed it. They changed it without informing their upcoming guests. And to think other big hotels including Venetian or Artyzen doens’t have this kind of policy! So i cancelled my booking and asked for a refund, but since i booked it through a booking app, they said they cannot do something about it.. well atleast you should have rebook my stay. What a waste of money! And to think it’s my birthday!! Next time please coordinate with other agencies or booking app regarding your hotel policy! Staffs are very arrogant as well especially from FO.

Having been told that the Landmark was a 5 star hotel we were looking forward to something special. Unfortunately we were really disappointed.
The concierge couldn't recommend anywhere to eat on the evening we checked in. It was only after much prompting that he directed us to a restaurant across the road.
The common areas of the hotel were nice however, the room was just so-so condition (surprising as it's only 2 years old) and was overcrowded with unecessary furniture.
The actual Pharoah casino was a joke. Small and smoky, mainly tables with not even a bar within the actual casino! For serious card gamblers only.
Our rate included a continental breakfast which ran from 8 to 10:30 am on weekends. We rushed to get there for 10:15 after waiting 30mins for a rickety ironing board to be delivered to the room.
The breakfast area was terrible. Plastic tables reminiscent of airport motel furniture and an ashtray on every one. When we arrived, all of the hot food was tepid as the heat had obviously been turned off a while ago. The food itself, would have been quite good if it had been warm although it did include some strange looking pre-formed chicken nuggets.
The staff obviously wanted rid of us as soon as we sat down and attempted to lift plates each time we downed tools. By the time we were finished the place was hazy with smoke as there was no non-smoking area.
Remembering that there was a spa in the hotel we decided to check it out. We were surprised to discover that we would be charged MOP200 per person, per entry to the hotel's pool area. This was not mentioned at all in any of the promotional material and we felt that it was a bit mean in a 5 star hotel to ask guests to pay to use the facilities.
All in all, a bit disappointed. For the same or not much extra, we could have stayed in the Mandarin Oriental or the Westin. Both appear to take their quality rating seriously.

If ever I was to be dissapointed with a 5* hotel this would be it! On first impression it seemed great but upon closer inspection all was to be revealed. Let's see....
1. The breakfast was rubbish... not 5* standard at all, hot food was cold and stale, very unappetising.
2. The size of bathroom was very spacious though but don't have the shower running and sink tap running at the same time... as you are likely to freeze or scorch the poor person in the shower... a very stupid system! The toilet got blocked and they couldn't get the maintenance person to come because as quoted by a cleaner "it would cost the hotel alot of money, because it's out of hours" so she was told she had to sort it out.
3. The ridiulous lift system was a like a maze... you have to take a lift to the 40th floor.... walk around to another corridor (badly signposted) to take the lift to the floors above... oh yeah the lifts broke down with people trapped inside and it took them over half an hour to get those poor people out. Not surprised with stupid system like that... even the staff got confused and told us to take a lift going down when it could only go up! Those lift wardens... a waste of space.
4. The men working concierge desk and spa... were a bit sleazy and I felt uncomfortable going for a massage there. The men however on reception were professional though.
5. But the worst thing about this place is that they attract the worst sorts of clientele I have ever seen in a so-called 5* establishment. They were uncouth, and extremely sleazy men, and one guy even tried it on me with me whilst I was in the lift on my own late one night... I was actually quite scared for my own safety and had to push him off me. There were just groups and groups of men I'd say about 95% from PRC, and I hardly saw any couples or women there.
By morning I could not wait to get on the shuttle bus and leave this place and I would never return! A really really dissapointing experience for a 5*.
When we booked this hotel we were told all the other 5* hotels were fully booked and only this one was available... now come to think of it, it makes me wonder why it was available!

I stayed three days in this hotel. The overall services is OK but something really unacceptable. On the last day's morning I went to the restaurant for the breakfast. The restaurant is only half full but I was asked to share a table. I asked why I need to share a table with someonne the waiter seens didn't understand my concern. I talked to the manager and gave me a table. Then in the middle of my breakfast, the same waiter asked a guest to seat in my table. There was many empty tables I really don't know why I still need to share a table. This was the first time I was asked to share a table in a five stars hotel.

We stayed for one night in september on a two week trip to HK.
On entering the hotel I was impressed with the grand entrance, I was with my husband and another couple, and on attempting to check in at the check in open time of 2pm were told only one of our rooms was ready and could we come back later for the other. As we were only staying one night and wanted to make the most of our stay this was a little irritating. Our other friends checked in first and we decided to leave our things in their room while we went around macau and came back later. To get to the room we had to take one lift to the 6th floor then walk to the east wing and get a further lift to the 13th floor. On entering the whole floor it smelt distinctly musty/damp which only worsened on entering the actual room. The air con was powered on to the maximum and room was very cold whilst smelling strongly of damp.
As we were only staying one night we decided not to ask to change rooms.
We checked in later that day to again poor customer service, we had to ask what time breakfast was served despite it being included in our rate, we then had to ask where it was served in the hotel despite the hotel having two wings and 20 odd floors they seemed to think we'd be able to find it! When I asked the person on reception she rushed through answering and I felt was quite rude. That evening we decided to go to the Venetian for dinner, but the concierge told us they couldn't get us a cab as it was busy and we would have to get our own.
In our room it looked nice on the surface but we noticed one of the towels was dirty with what looked like blood, and most of the towels had frayed edges.
At breakfast the next day there was a huge number of people at the relatively small buffet, the waitress showing us to our table marched us to the table furthest from the buffet and in fact in another restaurant in the hotel in one of the private booths. A lot of the other hotel guests were at the buffet and the food was running fairly low and was being constantly refilled, but all of the lids on the trays were left open and this was rather unappetising. Other guests were rude, pushed in and did not attempt to queue which also occurred when we were checking in.
For the large number of people I was surprised by the lack of food and options available.
I would not stay in the hotel again, the unfriendly reception, the other guests and the poor quality overall made it a very poor hotel and certainly not the 5star it was billed as. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We stayed here for 5 nights and it was a big mistake. Very flashy on the surface, but when you start to look closely this place is shabby and falling apart. Very few staff speak English, in fact the biggest mistake we made was choosing to stay there in the first place because this hotel is not set up to deal with English only speaking guests, so as a result customer service was practically non existent. Don't get me wrong they were all very polite and nice, but were just not able to be helpful to western tourists apart from opening doors etc. We were in a suite, which was a good western style size, but have stayed in bigger rooms in Macau. The place stank of damp and rotting carpet. We were on the 16th floor and you could see where the carpet was rotting in places due to water damage. The room amenities were fine, they bed and pillows were comfortable and good quality, Loccitane accessories, complimentary mini bar and all the usual stuff. I don't like to complain but I think it important for westerners who are planning to stay in Macau to choose the right spot to stay as things are not as efficient and organised in Macau and China as it is in Hong Kong. To finish on a positive note, if you are a Chinese speaking guest I think you will have a great stay and not encounter most of the issues that we had
