Golden Crown China Hotel is immediately across from the airport departure hall so the location cannot be beat if you have an early flight out. The rooms are old but clean. The price is reasonable so we had no problem getting a room here for a few hours for a nap before our 2am flight. For people not picky about hotel quality and don't want to spend any money on transport, the hotel can also be convenient for longer stays as shuttles to just about every major casino is available at the airport.

I am just over half way through my 3 weeks quarantine stay at this hotel. I read the previous reviews about staying here for a quarantine stay and didn't agree with them, so thought I would write a quick review! The rooms are a little dated, but for quarantine it was much more important for me to have a large room and it is certainly that, it makes all the difference when you are shut in 1 room for 3 weeks. The shower is excellent and really powerful, which always invigorates me. I think the staff here are very good, every time I have rung down for extra towels or water etc. the housekeeping have been very courteous and it has always arrived quickly. I must also praise Candy, the front desk manager, who I have spoken to a number of times and had always been extremely helpful. I asked through her for a more western menu and the hotel have delivered. Obviously it is no fun being shut in here for 3 weeks, but the hotel have certainly made it more bearable!

As ive seen in reviews, this hotel is looking good, but then it has its advantages and disadvantages, let us start with the advantages.(I would use bullet form to show the advantages.)
-Affordable
-Good English
-Near Airport
-good looking
-quiet at night
-Large rooms
I would now proceed to the disadvantages ( I would use bullet form to show disadvantages)
-No unkeep
-People keeps on smoking (non-stop)
-Bedsheet,blanket,pillows everything smells like smoke
-cigarette butts are everywhere
-Bed board is seriously hard
-Blanket is a cheap thing and yet uncomfortable
-pillows,cheap and sad
-Inside the room is a smokey smell
-Low-pleasant feeling
-Carpet full of stains
-No food or water in the room
-No internet/wifi
Fan of smoking? Stay here then

I got stuck here in quarantine and it's exceeded my worst expectations, congratulations. The rooms are depressingly dated and there is a musty, mouldy smell throughout the property. Even though this is Macau, it seems this place is run and staffed entirely by mainlanders with an attitude that matches the dour decor of this place.

The Wifi is unusable, the aircon only has two settings: too cold or off. Other than convenient location near the airport this place has no redeeming features.

The hotel lived up to its name. You will really feel that you are in China. This hotel caters mainly to Mainland Chinese people who came by group tour. The room is good in size but very very old. Even the TV is old. Wifi is free. Beds are hard. The toilet smells bad. The walls are thin. I can here people talking and washing their hands or taking a shower or even flushing their toilet from different direction. And that kept me awake. The view was nice. Take off and landing of the airplanes. But that was not important since most of the time, you are out of the hotel. Breakfast was not good. Forget about strolling in the area because you won't see anything except the airport which is across the hotel. The good thing is there are free shuttles from the airport to various hotels which starts at 10am. BUT, you have to check the last shuttle going back to the airport. I understand that it is not 24 hours. It is very hard to find a taxi in Macau which is odd since Macau is a touristy place and tourists need taxis. I often see ridiculously long line waiting for taxis. Many drivers don't want to use their meter. They knew that supply is not equal to the demand.
Conclusion: Never again except if I really need to stay near the airport.

Room is big/clean but bedsheet, pillow....etc full of smoking smell. This is because they allow their guests to smoke in the room. Convenient if your flight arrived late at nite. Can get shuttle bus at airport to Venetian.

For the same price, you can stay at the Hotel Royal or even the Ole London. The rooms are grim, almost beyond my ability to describe. I would stay there again because I sometimes take budget airlines that get in at 2am. But, I would pack my own blanket and pillows, as well as food and water.

This hotel was probably pretty nice when it was built in the 70s (my guess). It is old now with seeming no upkeep. It also suffers from being the type of hotel for a certain kind of Chinese person. These guests are guys who smoke non-stop, will put out their cigarettes and leave the butts everywhere (elevator floors, etc). There are a lot of fire extinguishers and signs begging guests not to smoke in bed here, so you get the picture.

They also love beds that are hard as a board. Fortunately, there was a duvet in the closet to lie on for a little softness, but I felt like something was biting my feet and legs all night. The blanket is a cheap thing that's so uncomfortable, they cover it in a sheet (which of course, comes loose at night. The pillows are similarly cheap and sad.

The AC options were:
Off-this left the room stale and hot and filled with a fetid, smokey smell.
Low-Pleasant feeling, but sounded like a train slowly chugging.
Medium-Too cold, but it was a steady roar, instead of a jarring chugga sound.

The carpet had a lot of mystery stains. A lot. There was no food or water in the room. Technically, you can drink the water in Macau, but it isn't the most pleasant experience.

There is no internet in this hotel. At all. So there's that.

In conclusion, don't stay here if you're visiting Macau, unless its 2 in the morning.

If you plan to visit Macau during peak period at crazy hotel price in the whole island, this is your choice.

From Macau airport, there are many free shuttle buses from. Vanetian, Wynn, Galaxy, etc. This will make your pocket feel comfortable.

We just take a few steps from hotel to area of Free Shuttle Bus Parking, we can go to downtown for Ruin of St Pual's or big casino ( Wynn or Venetain) without charge, paper or asking from driver.

From accomodation in hotel, I think it's quite good from what we've paid for. Breakfast seems so so but you can enjoy Mc Donald or Mc Cafe at airport near hotel.

Great service mind at receptionist and bellboy ( English seems questionable for communication)

However, we can rate at max for value of money at Peak Period.

Airport Hotel but not 100% good for short stay.

we stayed here for 1 night after getting in 10pm. the following day we proceeded to zhuhai. this property is a 4-star hotel. an absolute convenience for passengers staying overnight and moving on with their trip the next day. we booked our standard room thru agoda for 24 sq. meter, but front desk staff upgraded us to business floor free of charge about 28 sq. meter. once you arrive, head up to the departure area, get off the gate, the hotel is right across the street. hotel offers typical chinese breakfast buffet with very limited spread fro mop55. we ended up having b.fast in mcdonalds which opens 8am inide the airport departure area for mop17. the airport has big casino-hotel shutlle buses coming in starting 10 am which will take you to their respective properties free of charge i.e. venetian, galaxy, wynn, conrad/sheraton, city of dreams, mgm. from these hotels, you can catch a scheduled shuttle service to macau ferry, macau border gate, airport, and to other big casinos like sands and grand lisboa, and to other points of interest like the macau tower, fisherman's wharf, senado square and the infamous church ruins. this hotel has hard mattress, single pillow, and conventional 13" boxed tv. rooms have free wifi which was a delightful surprise. overall, this is a very convenient location.

As a business traveller, staying right opposite the airport was a huge convenience. Not only is it walking distance to the airport, getting up late and walking almost straight to gate thereafter. However, if you have an early morning ferry ride at 6am, that's completely a different story. I was told I could not pre-book a taxi, nor was I guaranteed there would be cabs at the airport at that hour. instead, they advised I go out 1.5 hours prior to wait and flag a cab - at the airport???

Well, the next morning, I was able to get a cab which was waiting at the entrance of the hotel. The cabby told me, it's ok, there are always cabs available! No need for the extra 1.5 hours. I landed up waiting at the ferry terminal for more than an hour when only 15 mins was enough.

Front Desk needs to be trained to provide support for business travellers. This hotel caters to large tour groups - so business travellers beware!

I was in this hotel once. It,s just opposite to the exit gate, It's the gate of the of the departure area, if I remember well. Just need to cross the road to reach the hotel. I saw the reception having staffs 24hours. You need to check the instruction on the lift to go to the reception lobby. I think it won't be a problem to check-in anytime. However, if you have booked online then better intimate them your flight number so that they keep your reservation for delayed check-in.

It is just across the road from the airport, you can see the hotel from inside the airport too. Just go out of the airport (taxi area) and you will see the hotel (you cannot miss it is so big). Do not worry it is very easy to find. Cross the road from the airport you are in the hotel :)
