This hotel has a big problem as the customer service does not exist, they have a no extra bed policy which is totally crazy in my opinion, and the booking was extremely difficult and unfriendly, the guy did not respond and the same was with checking in, 3 hours, rooms in need of renovation, website misleading, general manager extremely unfriendly as the whole staff!!! We spent our short vacation here, a well planned resort nested among the lush coastal forest not to forget the unique architectural feature and detailings it encompassed. We stayed in one of the Beach Front Villa (2D1N Romantic Getaway), with a splendid view across sea (wish the sea wall can be much lowered) framed by the swaying Casuarina trees when the cool sea breeze blow. There is a direct private access to the beach for each of this villa. All the staffs that we communicated with are very friendly, thoughtful and accommodating. We pretty much enjoyed the complementary candle light dinner and the massages. There are local stalls nearby (within 10minutes drive) for those whom favours the local cuisine. We had the mangrove kayak adventure as well but missed our chance for the turtle hatchery activity as there was no hatch on that day. Generally, every aspects of the stay was great but I hope the management can look into the cleanliness and maintenance of the buildings. Perhaps the resort is short handed. Definitely recommended for those small family and couples who seeks tranquility, peacefulness and eco sanctuary.…

Dear Sir Thank you for your review and generous rating. We are glad to know that you have enjoyed your stay with us. It was a great choice to book the Romantic Getaway Package. Our apologies regarding the sea wall. It was a necessary addition due to the increasing strength of the monsoon since we built. Had it not been constructed when it was we would not be open. However, there's an opening further up North of the resort where you can swim in the sea and I hope you have explored that option. We are sorry to learn that you have missed the hatching of baby turtle activities. I appreciate your concerns about the cleanliness and maintenance of the resort, my team is working hard to overcome staff shortages in the housekeeping department and the east coast does not have a pool of trained employees, hence, the constant rotation despite increased salaries, benefits and training is frustrating for us too. Please be rest assured that we are trying to maintain a true international standard and I believe we are making progress. My husband and i had the most memorable wedding experience at The Kasturi Cherating, Kuantan. After looking for a perfect venue for a year, The Kasturi ticked all the boxes. The privacy and the breathtaking forest setting were what drew us to this venue, and our expectations were exceeded in every way. Stephanie, the resort's manager, played an instrumental role in ensuring the entire planning process was seamless and tailored to our desires. Her understanding and support resulted in a bespoke wedding that felt uniquely ours. The ceremony amidst the lush forest was a dream come true, followed by 5 course dinner at Gamelan Hall. I must give a special mention to Mike, the operation manager, whose dedication was evident in every detail. The entire staff went above and beyond, leaving us and our guests absolutely delighted. The day after the celebration, our guests couldn't stop raving about the experience, and I'm grateful for The Kasturi's commitment to making our wedding day so remarkable. It's hard to imagine a more fitting venue for our reception; it was as though we had stepped into a scene from a movie that will forever be etched in our hearts. My husband and I look forward to revisiting The Kasturi Cherating on our anniversary. I booked one bed villa for 3 days 2 nights, full board package! This is the best trip ever!! Foods are good, staffs are great and friendly!! Talked to a few and they were friendly!! Those who said they are not good in english, you guys are wrong. They are among the locals and they can speak better than those in the city. Will def repeat!!!

I was here earlier of the year for 1 night only as the hotel was fully booked. I fell inlove with the place as the design and layout was beautifully done. Private pool and walking distance to the beach. Whats not to love right? There were minor hiccups here and there. Found 1 roach in the room but hey, we’re in the jungle right? The staff was all welcoming and kind. The housekeeping even came at night to clear the rubbish and provide some chocolates for the kids. I felt really at peace and happy. So i thought, okay lets come back to this place again! 6 months later and boom! Everything deteriorated. From the service right down to the room. Mind you, this is a FIVE STAR HOTEL. Upon checking in, we found that the room was not fully ready. Toilet bowl is disgusting and yellowish. As if they never scrub it. Cups and spoons were missing and pool towel was not placed in the room. There were also ants around the floor. Called room service and it took them a while to send the towel and they promise to take care of the ants and they didnt. Second day, the ants situation got worse. It was also on our bed now! Also, i have killed 2 roaches in the villa as of the second day. And the floor was dirty as my kids walk around barefoot and their feet turned black. I informed the front desk and they got the housekeeping to mop the room and also maintenance came to spray the ants. My husband was also at the gym at 7am and there were no clean towels. DIRTY towels were lying around the gym desk. I informed the staff about the matter. I was to the point of TEACHING them how to do basic hotel housekeeping. Again, pls remember this is supposed to be a FIVE STAR HOTEL. Third day, this is when i lost my cool. There were more ants. I know this place is in a jungle, but must we sleep with the ants crawling on the bed? I requested for the housekeeper to change all the bedlinens. I let them do their job. When they finished, the cups were all not washed, the drinks and snacks not replenished, the floor mat was not replaced. I had to call front desk to ask for it. Was this really necessary for a FIVE STAR HOTEL? I also doubt the bedlinens was changed as the same stain from when i checked in was still there. I hope they really do change the bedlinens after each checkout. I have been to 4 star hotel who did a better job than this. Cups washed and placed back appropriately. Snacks and drinks replenished everyday even if the one in the room is not finished yet and without me asking them to! I have lost what is supposed to be a calm and happy vacation due to this hotel’s poor maintenance and have also spent a lot of money here. What do I hope from writing this review? I am hoping the owners, Angela and Hijaz or any other higher management read this and do some changes! Clearly someone is not doing their job to maintain the five star status of this hotel. Please improve your maintenance and service because it is such a lovely place and its sad to see it slowly going down the drain. The only people that deserves recognition are the buggy drivers and the chinese Chef. Those of u who plan on going, do not keep quiet if you see something is not right with the hotel. You must complaint so that they know it is not right and they can improve (hopefully). However, since they are privately owned and not a part of an international hotel chain, i have doubts that the owners will take it seriously. Please prove me wrong. Honestly, i will not come back again anytime soon. Hopefully when i do come back, improvements have been made. Thanks for the memories. The good and the bad. This place is perfect for a big group. Total relaxation with a private pool in place. Surrounded by greenery with a natural rustic atmosphere. Staffs are very attentive and helpful. Wifi was great without disruption. Breakfast with a decent choice, but could be better with more choices added. The owner is a down to earth and a real friendly person. Pls take note of this. Although resort is seafront, No sea activities at the resort itself, no swimming out at the beach as it is being cordon off by huge rocks, jelly fish dangers also present. No ATV or jetskies available. You could go outside of the resort to explore on your own for sea activities. You can play volley ball, or swim at the premises. But definitely a great place for refreshing your mind.
