We spent our short vacation here, a well planned resort nested among the lush coastal forest not to forget the unique architectural feature and detailings it encompassed. We stayed in one of the Beach Front Villa (2D1N Romantic Getaway), with a splendid view across sea (wish the sea wall can be much lowered) framed by the swaying Casuarina trees when the cool sea breeze blow. There is a direct private access to the beach for each of this villa. All the staffs that we communicated with are very friendly, thoughtful and accommodating. We pretty much enjoyed the complementary candle light dinner and the massages. There are local stalls nearby (within 10minutes drive) for those whom favours the local cuisine. We had the mangrove kayak adventure as well but missed our chance for the turtle hatchery activity as there was no hatch on that day. Generally, every aspects of the stay was great but I hope the management can look into the cleanliness and maintenance of the buildings. Perhaps the resort is short handed. Definitely recommended for those small family and couples who seeks tranquility, peacefulness and eco sanctuary.

Dear Sir Thank you for your review and generous rating. We are glad to know that you have enjoyed your stay with us. It was a great choice to book the Romantic Getaway Package. Our apologies regarding the sea wall. It was a necessary addition due to the increasing strength of the monsoon since we built. Had it not been constructed when it was we would not be open. However, there's an opening further up North of the resort where you can swim in the sea and I hope you have explored that option. We are sorry to learn that you have missed the hatching of baby turtle activities. I appreciate your concerns about the cleanliness and maintenance of the resort, my team is working hard to overcome staff shortages in the housekeeping department and the east coast does not have a pool of trained employees, hence, the constant rotation despite increased salaries, benefits and training is frustrating for us too. Please be rest assured that we are trying to maintain a true international standard and I believe we are making progress. Thank you for staying with us and we look forward to seeing you in the near future. Take care and stay safe.

We stayed at The Kasturi for 4D3N in the Forest Villa. It was nice and quiet despite being fully booked, and the private pool was lovely especially with RMCO restrictions. It was a pleasant surprise that the bedroom downstairs was wheelchair accessible with not a single step, and with sliding doors and grab bars in the spacious bathroom. We have an 11-year-old in a wheelchair and this was ideal for him. In contrast it was a little disappointing to find that the main building had only a gravel path in front of it and lots of steps between the restaurant and leisure areas without ramps or a smooth path.

Service was very good, the staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Food choices were limited but tasty enough. And for the price paid the finishings and facilities of the forest villa could be a tad better, for example (considering it is a villa for 6 people) a nicer or more spacious deck by the pool with loungers, drying lines in the bathrooms, and better pool privacy (a maintenance building was within sight). Cleanliness was okay but could be better, we found the mirrors and glass sinks spotty and dull. Another thing to note is that though the beach is not swimmable, it is still pretty to look at, clean and nice to walk or wade in so having some seating and refreshment service out there would’ve been an added bonus.

Stunning property! Travelling with my wife we stayed in a beachside villa, glass walled, bright, clean and a tastefully appointed with attention to details, direct access to the beach and private swimming pool/ the room was perfect …resort is very private with no outside guests allowed access to either the restaurant or resort areas, so privacy is paramount in this place!/ mini bar ( soft drinks etc) was also part of the room snd constantly refilled upon request/ decent coffee provided via capsule also included/ Breakfast with a great, selection of fresh juices and both Malay & western hot menu selections to choose, also we dined in for our dinners and lunch.. overall the food is of a high calibre, crisp skin fish was cooked to perfection as with the local fare with fresh caught seafood.. just fantastic/ as my wife is vegetarian there was a good selection but the chef also customised dishes which she appreciated greatly. No need to leave to dine elsewhere as the quality was consistent for each meal period.

Nearby along further along the beach there are mangroves where u can see the local wildlife and birds…overall a great private relaxing resort in which to unwind after a dreadful pandemic period!

We will return!

We arrived to hotel and there wasn’t anyone checking our temperature or scan the MySejahtera QR code and best part the hand sanitizer wasn’t refilled. I’m not sure if d hotel is aware on the importance of this new norm.
After that we went to our villa, as we entered the unit the floor was sandy. There were cobwebs in our bathroom. The fan in both room had a thick dust on it and there were dust everywhere else in the unit. The sitting area at the living room was filled with lizard poop. We were shocked to see that the unit wasn’t clean at all. Which means this Resort staff did not clean the unit at all. We call ‘0’ many times to clean the unit but thy didn’t bother to take action on it. No insect spray in the villa. Me & my family were bitten by the insects in the villa and serounding.
The nxt day, I insisted the Hsekeeping Manager to come and view the villa, but the Supervisor came. She said sorry and sent 2 cleaners to clean the villa. But the lizards continued to poop. And they were everywhere. Hello, how if the lizards contaminate our food? This was not acceptable at all. You call yourself 5 star? I wanted to meet the Manager of the Resort, but he wasn’t around.
The breakfast same menu for the past 3 mornings and i was told its the same since they opened. Not much choice. Waste of money. It’s a worthless holiday. I rather stay at branded hotel. The ale carte food is so expensive compared to Marriott Group. RM8 additional charges for each and every order to the room.
The buggy service was hopeless. We called them at night to take us to the car park and so forth but they didn’t come at all. Imagine walking in the jungle alone in the dark. We are from the city and we are not use to this at all, it was scary. Resort mentioned that buggy service is 24/7. It’s just a lie. There are so many staff but they are just hopeless. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Stayed in the penthouse.
We found the fishcracker leftover in the drawer..
Stains in the toilet bowl,
Clogged washbasin ( one of them)
The same with the shower, the water drains slowly, can you truly enjoy cleaning yourself when your feet stays in the murky water?
We are not a sucker for complementary toiletries and amenities, but shouldnt the resort refill/restock whenever there are new guests checking in?
We called for help as we couldnt on the tv, but yes you are correct, no one came. The service team were busy? During this cMCO? Very few cars at the carpark by the way.

This resort is new, the tagline or whatever you call it is attractive enough. Embraced by land and sea. With the right management, good maintenance, they can soar to no 1 resort in this country.

Do not use reasons like mco to downgrade your service or ignore the overall cleanliness and maintenance of this place. We expected a lot since the price is not cheap and the so called star is 5. Dissapointed.

The staffs were well spoken and polite and knew how to interact with guests. But in the end, in this industry, you have to work not only with your mouth right?

Truly love the overall resort, the architecture and attention to detailing. All we did was stayed in the resort and just enjoyed the property. As the villas are limited in numbers, we truly enjoyed the boutique style hospitality which is very private and intimate. It is the perfect setup for those who appreciates small luxury hotels, away from crowd.

We were travelling in a group of 8 and booked 2 units of 2-bedroom beachfront villa and it was the perfect choice! If you are travelling in a group, do request for Villa 4 and 5 which are side by side (but not connected) as it is convenient to hop from 1 villa to another.

Both villas are spacious and the rooms were comfortable with good bedding.
Grd Floor bedroom comes with twin beds and First floor bedroom comes with a King bed + Bathtub. I also love the fact that they provided Tanamera toiletries that smells amazing and sets the whole mood of luxury nature living!

There was no buffet breakfast due to RMCO but we were given a selection on menu to choose from and the portion was a lot.

All in all... it was an amazing stay at The Kasturi and i would highly recommend this resort which is suitable for both families and honeymooners.

Loved the property, so spacious, nice private pool, outdoor showers, great service from making reservations to arrival experience. Kasturi paid homage to keeping the nature intact; you feel like you are in the middle of a tropical forest...The restaurant had a new Manager from what we were told, his name is Didi; well mannered and very attentive and knows his work. Made reservation for dinner. The food however was really below par, the western dishes were if i may say the Chef was trying very had to be innovative but did not live up to the taste, the Asian dish too was a little too bland. I expected better dining experience from what we have received so far from the arrival and the Villa. However Breakfast was very good, despite the slow arrival of our coffee and Teh tarik, the Curry puffs in the bakery basket was a surprised and it tasted very good to top it up. We book for 2 nights and by the first night we were so delighted with Kasturi that we enquire if we can extend our stay for another night if the rate was right; however, another disappointment, we were quoted much much higher rate than what we paid for and was not even shown interest of our further business or discounted rates offered; so we decided to look for other options elsewhere which i think was a loss to Kasturi as we wanted to extend another 3 nights. Its ok, we decided to return on a later date.

Dear Ma Azmi Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay with us. We are glad to know that you love the resort and its' environment despite the shortcoming of our food standard that did not meet your expectation. I apologize for that and I have informed the Chef to look into this matter and improve the food quality at the restaurant. As for your request to extend stay, I am not sure if the dates of your extension stay falls on weekends as the rates on weekends are much more expensive than weekdays but I do agree with you that a discounted rate should be offered since you intend to stay another 3 nights. Again, I apologize for that and will inform reservation and Front Desk to take note on this matter. Thank you again for taking time to write the review. We look forward to welcoming you to the resort soon. Take care and stay safe.

The Kasturi is very well maintained, clean and well designed. Prices at the restaurant were very reasonable and the villa with private pool was gorgeous. A very comfortable stay but most memorable are the amazing and friendly staff who went out of their way to serve you and make sure you were taken care of. We also enjoyed complimentary baby turtle release and kayaking in the mangroves.

Really looked forward to staying here. But when we arrived at the gate, we were immediately met with a series of disappointments.

Check in took more than TWO hours. Despite staying here with our small kids in the past and our booking confirmation stating kids were welcome, we were told on arrival The Kasturi policy had changed and our kids were not welcome. We showed them our confirmation stating kids could stay in our room and they said it was a mistake and the confirmations shouldn't say that anymore. Obviously it is their responsibility to fact check and make sure their policies aren't outdated or mis-stated in their confirmations. They insisted we book our 7 & 8 year old into a separate room and that we bear the cost.

This "welcome" was very upsetting. The manager was off site so couldn't help. We'd just driven more than three hours and it wasn't feasible to leave, but we also no longer looked forward to staying somewhere that felt hostile to our family. In the end we were forced to pay the extra money for another room that we didn't need or want and then take begin a vacation that feels ruined before it's begun.

Since check in took so long, we missed the complimentary tea time they informed us had been held and just ended while they kept us in a holding area. Though I missed it, I suggest you go to this if you visit as a tea bag in the room is chargeable 5rm. The room we booked is massive with nice views. Sadly, since our last stay there's quite a musty odor and noticeable mold. Better maintenance, communication, and customer service required.

Dear Sir/Madam Thank you for your review. We wish to clarify again the situation of over pax here. Our 1 child below 5 years old policy is allowed in the room has been established since the opening of the resort. You came in 2019 with both your children when they were only 3 & 4 years old and our team allowed that as we understand that they were too young to be sleeping in a separate room. Now that they have grown, the policy will apply. Your booking was made through Ctrip and we have checked their website, there is child and extra bed policy stated clearly that only 1 child below 5 is allowed and the resort do not provide extra bed. I apologize it takes so long for you to check in because we had to clarify this matter with the Manager of Ctrip if they have advertise wrongly. It was later conferred that the information on their website is correct on only 1 child policy. As for the afternoon tea that you have missed, I believe we have arranged to send them to your room as per your request since you were not able to enjoy them in the lounge. We have also accorded a 50% discount on the 2nd room for your children for this stay and 20% discount on F&B for the delay on your check in process. Lastly, we always inform the guest to book the 2 bedrooms villa if they have 2 adults and 2 children who are already age 5 and above. Sorry again for the delay in our service. I hope the above clarifies your disappointment.

Wonderful experience. It's such a relaxing resort. The sea view villas are amazing and have a private pool. Bathrooms are well stocked and the bathtub was a great size.

We biked to and from the restaurant through the garden side and sometimes walked to there from the beach side.
