Nestled near the gondola with breathtaking Zugspitze views, Alpenrose - Familux Resort is a hit for its ample amenities, including diverse dining and leisure activities, and its cleanliness is consistently celebrated. The rooms offer a range of family-friendly options, though soundproofing has been noted as a potential issue. While service is lauded for efficiency and excellent childcare, some guests feel improvements could be made. Despite a few concerns, the overall value is recognized by many travelers who appreciate the child-centric atmosphere and the hotel's commitment to creating a welcoming experience for families.

We stayed at the Alpenrose for a week in August and can recommend the hotel without reservation.

The hotel has a great and age-appropriate children's program, which external people can also view daily on the website. For our daughter, the children's show Tarzan was a highlight, for which she had rehearsed four times with other children. Rehearsals always start on Sundays, and the show is on Thursdays. Special thanks to the supervisors Vanessa, Marcello, Mariia and Renée.

This allows the parents to have some nice time out to relax.

The hotel's facilities are perfectly tailored to children and very varied (including a water world with long tube slides, pirate ship, spacious pools, playgrounds, soft play area, indoor bouldering wall, color room, electric go-karts....)

The food was very good for a family hotel and parents and children can either order a menu or eat at the varied children's buffet or both;-)

In addition, unlike family hotels, room cleaning is standard and the facilities can be used on arrival in the morning and on the day of departure until 5 p.m. at no extra charge.

We have therefore already booked our next stay for August 2024

We booked for 5 nights as a break between autumn and ski season. Let's start with the negatives then the positives.

Negative: firstly, a bed guard (Rausfallshutz) was not correctly installed onto a spring box bed (room 203) - the fastening straps had been cut off, so it couldn't be secured around the mattress and the brackets were merely slid under the mattress. Our 2 year old son wanted to sleep in the bed and at 03.00 he rolled against the bed guard and because it was a box spring bed and the guard was not secured, it slipped away from the bed and our son fell out. Thankfully he landed on his stomach and not his head. Nevertheless, he was distraught.
Secondly, after check in, we were given directions to the lift, we decided to ask for a hotel map. It was only then that we were told that we should have had a tour.

Positives: the negative points above were rectified by reception and apologies were given. For the bed incident, we were offered an upgrade for 3 out of the 5-night stay.

Food was excellent, both the buffet and evening meals for the adults. And there are wet wipes available everywhere (which is awesome if your kids like to smear their food everywhere, including in their hair).

Kids club; it took a while for our kids to settle (which is normal for our kids). On day 1, one of the team called us after 20 mins to say that the kids couldn't settle and they'd tried everything, so could we collect them. But you know what? This openness and honesty only increased our trust in the kid's club team and helped with the orientation of our kids into the kids club. By the end of day 5, our kids hugged Lisa bye bye and said that the kids club was one of their favourite parts of the hotel (as well as the slides!). So that's a massive success.

Pool area; our kids spent 2 hours at a time just going up and down the smaller kids slides in the pirate area. Plus, the baby pool is equipped in a way that parents can sit at the side and relax a bit. And the adult sauna area was also super relaxing with lots of different heats and relaxation options to choose from.

Lost property; I lost a sentimental bracelet somewhere near the kids club. I informed reception and they then informed every department. Within 2 days, kids club called me to say they'd found the bracelet. This efficiency in the hotel's internal communication was really appreciated and I was so relieved to have the bracelet back (it was bought at the birth of our second born).

There are endless options for the kids and adults. Even though we had a negative experience with the bed situation, we had more positives, especially with the trust in the kids club, which is why we've booked again for 2025.

A dream vacation with free time for yourself, your partner and the whole family. We felt very comfortable, the facility is very well maintained and every single member of staff was always available to us. The staff is very friendly and clearly enjoys their job. The children's animation team actively approaches the children to invite them to the kids' club. The offers at the kids' club are also very varied. A special highlight was the evening buffet

We stayed this time in July for a week at Alpenrose and can continue to recommend the hotel without restrictions.

The hotel has a great and age-appropriate children's program, which can also be viewed on the hotel's homepage as an external. For our daughter, the children's musical Vaiana was a highlight, for which she had rehearsed four times with other children. Rehearsal starts every Sunday, show is on Thursday. Special thanks to the carers Vanessa, Marcello, Mariia and Renée, who were also on board last year,

This allows the parents nice breaks to relax.

The facilities of the hotel are perfectly adapted to children and very varied (including water world with long tube slides, pirate ship, spacious pools, playgrounds, soft play facility, indoor bouldering wall, color space, electric go-karts....)

Very nice is also the gym overlooking the Zugspitze.

The food was very good for a family hotel and parents and children can either order a menu in the evening or eat at the varied children's buffet or both;-)

In addition, unlike Familotels, there is a room cleaning service as standard and at no additional fee the facilities can be used already on arrival in the morning and on the day of departure until 5 pm.

Another room tip: for older children, pay attention to the size of the bunk beds when booking Referral, some of which are only 170cm long.

We are a family of 4, two little ones that are ages 3 and 1.5 and we could not say enough great things about Alpenrose. The food was top notch for adults and there were great options for children, even those whose kids might be a little 'selective'. The indoor and outdoor play areas for the children were great, our two could not get enough of them! Both pools were fantastic. The laundry is free and detergent is even provided (you won't find this at many places!). The workout room for adults had all of the equipment that one would need, and the staff were ever so helpful!! Our oldest got a splinter while out on a hike, we didn't have any tweezers or way to remove it, I asked the front desk and very quickly they provided tweezers and disinfectant spray. That is just a small example of how they were helpful in every way. Our waitress(s) and servers were so kind throughout our stay. If you are a family of little ones are are hesitant about the price or where to stay as a family, THIS IS THE PLACE. Every single detail is thought of for families. Even the tables being set with appropriate high chairs and bibs for younger ones at each meal. As I stated, we do not have enough good things to say about Alpenrose. Not to mention the mountain views are breathtaking. We will be back for years to come and hopefully will be bringing all of our friends and family too! Thank you for an exceptional family holiday!

The overall concept is the best for us, which is why we have already been there several times with our family. The indoor games area is unbeatable. The huge, varied indoor pool and sauna area leaves nothing to be desired. The location directly next to the cable cars is ideal with short distances to the Zugspitze. The quality of the food, the cleanliness and the friendliness of the staff are particularly noteworthy.

The hotel is simply a dream for families. The facilities and service are simply top-notch, the food is of superb quality and everything is included in the price around the clock. The bathing and wellness area is of a super high standard and is beautifully designed and thought out in every corner. You really don't miss anything!

We regularly went to the Alpenrose with our 4 children. We particularly liked that it was family-run. At Easter I was a guest in this house with my 4 children for the first time since 2019. The infrastructure and range of services are still very good and correspond to the price. We were disappointed by the significantly lower quality of service, which in my opinion no longer does justice to a premium hotel. I would just like to give an example: Breakfast on Easter Monday... there is a paper napkin and a cup saucer on the uncovered wooden table. It couldn't be more loveless. The employee didn't understand in German or English that we would like cutlery. So we helped ourselves. Self-service is very important here anyway. The gap between marketing and reality is too big. Management has little interest in feedback; We were not asked about it either during the stay, at checkout or after the stay. This depth of fall hurts us greatly; However, this cannot be explained solely by a lack of skilled workers; in my opinion, the family's commitment to day-to-day operations is lacking after the management-run chain "Familux-Resort" was founded. Such a shame!

It was once again wonderful and unforgettable days in the Alpenrose with perfect autumn weather. As soon as we parked in the underground car park, our kids had already disappeared directly into the hotel. It's like coming home every time. Everything is just right for us here. The wide range of food (the breakfast buffet is unstoppable, lunch buffet, snack, delicacies hut dinner a la carte/buffet for the children), the included leisure activities for young and old (e.g. childcare in different age groups, VR glasses, Segway, golf cart, taster indoor golf, gym, sports hall, cinema/theater, soft play area, climbing wall, bouncy castle, go-kart, table tennis, table football, air hockey, billiards, various playgrounds and and and ) the swimming pool/slide area, the sauna area, the outdoor area, the service, the nice staff, the mixture of modern and traditional, the location directly on the gondola, the view of the Zugspitze, all this and much more make this hotel a perfect holiday experience for us.

We stayed at the Alpenrose for the 4th time and all of our expectations were once again exceeded. You are in pampering and relaxation mode immediately after arriving. So many small details and niceties make the holiday feeling perfect: cleanliness, friendliness, activities, the surroundings, the delicious food....
The next holiday is already booked.

Hello Charlize, Munich Airport is 2h drive from the Hotel. There is also a Airport in Innsbruck witch you can get to in 1h but it is only a small Airport and not all Airlines take you there. Munich is better.

For the parents there are a huge variety of activities on site and nearby. There are probably more activities than you will have time to exhaust during your stay. I kept "discovering" new things to do with each return visit. We've been three times, and they keep adding things. Golf is readily available a short three minute ride with the hotel van. You play in this amazing and lush valley with mountains surrounding you in all directions, At any given time you will see people leaving or returning from walks or hikes through the forest or nearby mountains. This include groups young and old, parents with toddlers or infants...everybody can find outdoor fun here with little effort. Since our last visit they've added Segways,as well as motorcycle and convertible sports cars for guest use to tour the area. Besides being right across the street from the Zugspitz base and gondola, you are a short ride from Garmisch in one direction, Fussen/Neuschwanstein in another, and other outdoor activities like Roedelbahn/sledding in another direction. Time and your imagination will be your only limits on a visit to Alpenrose.
