Hotel Edelweiss has been our favourite hotel in Austria since 1980. Both winter and summer, what a nice hotel. Very well maintained and very enjoyable to stay there. The staff is very friendly and makes every effort to make you feel at home! Top location! A disadvantage we found the dinner that according to several guests came from 'packages'. Far too salty and unsurprising.....very unfortunate. In the past everything was prepared in the kitchen and that was tasty. My advice: pay more attention to dinner and raise prices if necessary.

Very nice and good hotel
Excellent cuisine ! Even slightly more difficult dishes like pink roast duck for so many guests were skillfully prepared ; every evening a great dessert buffet, fruit, cake sweets huge cheese selection .
The hotel staff, mostly from Hungary or other Eastern European countries, are always friendly and courteous.
The wellness area with swimming pool 15m long pool , whirlpool, several saunas is generously laid out ; there you can relax well after skiing a real treat .
I would definitely come back! This place is highly recommended in my opinion.

We returned to the Edelweiss for a 3 night stay in September just as the storm Boris was hitting Austria. Lermoos missed most of it but did have snow on the mountains which made them look even more impressive.
The hotel is very good with a great swimming pool.
The rooms are good with everything as it should be.
The food in the hotel seems to be even better than when we last visited with excellent buffets for starters, soup and deserts.
The cheese board was very good with a wide selection of cheeses.
Breakfast was very good with eggs cooked to order and an extensive buffet of fruit meats and cheeses.

English:
Terrible Hotel.
Installations with lack of update. The heating did not work and it was very cold.
Bugs in all rooms. The nightstands were wooden chairs. Without enough bedding. Humidity in the room.
The food service had little availability and reduced service hours for a place where you are isolated from everything and with few services nearby.
And I think the worst thing is that the staff and owners are not interested in the state of the hotel.

I just had to write a review on this magnificent hotel. We travelled with Crusader coaching holidays from the UK September 9-17 2011,we got to the hotel fairly late in the evening but what we found was out of this world.A very comfortable hotel room,we had a twin,it had lots of space, many storage and cupboard space, good bathroom, and the view from our room, well it was awesome!Plenty of plug sockets and a phone, hairdryer and safe.
I cannot thank the staff at the hotel enough, they were very helpful, great swimming pool and gym.We are going to visit again soon.many thanks for making our holiday something we will always remember.

Myself and my family including 3 children aged 10, 7 and 4 stayed for 5 nights at the Edelweiss this week for a lovely skiing trip to Lermoos. As usual everything was efficient and worked as it should and this is a real plus in any holiday. All e-mails sent in advance were promptly responded to and of course as a non-German speaker it is really helpful that everyone has good English. Our room was great - the in-built kids room is fantastic for us as it keeps the costs down and gives us a little seperate area where the kids can sleep and play. This is our second stay at this hotel and it must be said that the rooms that we have stayed in are actually better than the common areas of the hotel - good and big with plenty of space to hang up ski gear etc. The hotel feels quite spread out as if built in parts and the decor is somewhat tired at this stage. Like all indoor places I have come across in Austria it is heated to sauna level so one tip is bring light clothes for the evening times as you wont need any heavy clothes indoors. As we dont have smoking in bars in Ireland for some years now it is very off-putting to be exposed to quite so much smoke and it can feel oppressive at times. Food is fine particularly the salad buffet but the actual main courses are only average. Kids were quite happy with the choices and liked the playroom - this gets a special mention as it is just off the bar so allowed us many pleasant hours having a drink and a chat while the kids were happily amusing themselves. We did have one problem which was not well handled - on our second night there a group of youngsters sitting drinking and talking loudly in the corridor outside our room until after 4am - despite my requests for them to be quiet they remained and woke all of my kids. I tried calling the Night porter but could not raise anyone which was very worrying - when I raised this issue the next day it was dismissed which was not acceptable. Not just from the noise and disturbance perspective but also should there be an emergency it is necessary to have someone contactable.Other than that we did not have any problems and enjoyed our stay. Pool is fine and overall value is very good for a family.

Just back from a weeks skiing in Lermoos and stayed at the Edelweiss Hotel. The hotel is huge, its lovely, the staff are all very helpful and friendly and it has that Austrian feel about the place, much like the smaller Austrian guesthouses. We booked halfboard. There is a big breakfast buffet of cold meats, cereals, breads, yogarts, eggs & bacon plenty to choose from. At breakfast they give you a menu to choose your evening meal, a choice of 3. There is a salad buffet and other starters to help yourself from before your meal is served to you. The food was good enough, Austrian food in there ever night with a meat or fish dish also. We ate out two nights just for something different. The swimming pool, sauna & jacuzzis are excellent, just what you need to come back to after a days skiing. The rooms were fairly big and where cleaned everyday. There is a bar and lounge in the hotel, which had music (austrian) twice during the week we were there, it was fun to see the Austrians doing there slap dancing. The bar closed quite early 11-11.30 so there was no chance of getting a late drink especially if the boss was around! The town of Lermoos is very small itself but the skiing is good for beginners and imtermediate, you can take a free bus to the next couple of villages and ski there for the day which was great. The nightlife in Lermoos is non-existant I guess its just the way of the Austrians and swiss up and at it early and to bed early.(not like us Irish). I would definitley recommend the Edelweiss Hotel to stay in. The Cable car is literally across the road from the Hotel - 3min walk and you can leave your skis/boots at the Cable car depot for 2euro a day. The only thing I did'nt like about this hotel was we were on the ground floor and the noise of people & children running up and down the corridors early in the morning was a bit loud and also the pool was on our level so that added to the traffic, but other than that it was a great place to stay.

The rooms were spacious neat and clean with perfect Wi-Fi connections for free! Our room's view was out of this world with beautiful mountains in front of us framed by the colourful flowers hanging from flowerpots on our balcony. The personal was friendly and the breakfast of outstanding value. So much more than expected! We were able to walk wherever we wanted to go.

I currently am 16 years old, and used to go there every year. (3 years old till 9 years old), it was awesome! You can take walks in the mountains, there is beautiful lakes,... Its truely an experience, and I'd love to be able to go back there. Sadly we don't go to Austria anymore, but to answer your question: yes, there are lots of things to do, the swimming pool is awesome (inside and outside), the food is good, the rooms are clean, truely everything you'd want!

"If you have kids in the Ski School be aware that it is located at the other end of the town - this is very good hotel for good skiers as the main Gondola lift is right across the road but if you are taking lessons then you will need to walk over (a hill that my kids didnt like) or you can do what we did which was get a taxi (average cost €7)."
