Where do I begin? There are two parts to this hotel; the main one and then a kind of annex down the road. we were placed in the annex. The room was basic and very small. There was a smell first thing in the morning and in the evening of cooking oil drifting up from the cafe/restaurant downstairs. The TV...

We stayed at Hotel Framnes in Feb 2017. Was feeling a bit uneasy about it as I read many negative reviews about it before arriving. However, when we checked in, the staff was friendly. We were caught in a snow storm and arrived quite late around 8:30pm, both restaurants in town said their kitchens were closed and could not even...

We stayed here for 2 nights as a group of 13 persons on photography expedition. Our objective was to get a good nights rest and keep warm. The hotel is very basic, so don't set your expectations too high... You're own your own on everything including getting your luggage in/out of the room. While we were there, we only saw...

My husband & I visited in June 2016. We only stayed here one night (as there are few options in this area) and the town itself was like a ghost town. There wasn't much going on but that's the appeal of Iceland I suppose. The room was average- really nothing great or terrible. The front desk staff was somewhat off...

Hotel refused to return our money, they charged us for no show while we were there, checked in and stayed there. We have hotel receipt, pictures while we were staying there. Never thought that the hotel is such irresponsible. It's been a month already and still they refused to return our money back. Watch out if you decide to book...

7 of us went on boxing day and had 2 nights booked in Framnes. We were a little late getting there due to the weather conditions- we did telephone ahead and this was all fine and we were early welcomed at around 11pm. Rooms were exactly what you need. They were clean and warm- couldn't fault anything at all. Breakfast...

I am normally a traveller that just ignores things that go wrong. I have travelled enough to know nothing always goes 100% to plan. The reason for leaving Hotel Framnes and Grundarfjörður a day earlier, is that the service at the hotel was worse than poor! There was no dinner on offer at the hotel (there was previously) and the...

The hotel is in a semi industrial area of the town and although backs on to a Fjord is generally not in a pretty location. Checking in process was the worst as the person checking us in was completely disinterested and we felt like we were inconveniencing him. The payment went through and suddenly a few normal sentences from him...

The staff were friendly and gave us an upgraded room at check in. The room had a nice view of the fjord. The room was clean but worn out. It's an older hotel and ready for an update. The breakfast was disappointing, there was not enough food or cutlery for everyone. The town is nice and there is a very...

We checked in on the 5th and found the reception 'unwarm'. My guess is that it lies with his nationality. We stayed in the main building and found the room acceptable, but needed a good spring cleaning and some handyman work. Although the bathroom was functional, the shower gel holder was missing and there was no ventilation in the bathroom...
