I stayed here in March of this year. It's a quick trip from the airport, and it's located on St. Lawrence Gap, with several restaurants nearby. I do love the beautiful peachy-pink buildings, and as their website says, almost every room has a view of...More

Loved this hotel. Slightly quirky feel, right on the beach and within easy walking distance of all the life on St Lawrence Gap. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the wifi was free if intermittent, the pool area was welcoming. They even managed to...More
Stayed at Southern Palms during England's visit to Barbados. Had stopped on St Lawrence Gap before and wanted to do so again as it meant being well located. This place is excellent, on pretty much every level. It's right on the beach which was wonderfully...More

Hello, Hire a toaster in Barbados? Presumably, your hotel does not supply one in their kitchenette? Have you checked this one? We had one in our hotel. Options? You'll have to search the Internet. I did not see a 'hire shop' in the island - but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Whether they hire toasters is anyone's guess (usually it's construction, gardening, trailer equipment, etc.). You can buy a toaster. My search showed 'Courts' offering a toaster for BB$41 (and a massive BB$60 to deliver it; but it did provide an option for collecting it for free). Courts is located in Bridgetown. You could take one with you from Liverpool. You'd need to find a 120v toaster. You have 240v mains supply in the UK. Alternatively, take a small transformer with you too. Check on eBay different prices available. But, it gets messy and this is a lot of effort for 'toast for breakfast'. The Courts offer sounds best, but you'd need to take the bus to town/hire a car. We hired a car for the week, so travelling was easy. You could source a s/hand toaster in Barbados, but this again would be a hassle. How do you find it quickly? When we left Barbados - when we lived there - we took all our small kitchen appliances with us - and bought a transformer and wired it into our kitchen at home. We did take our waffle maker, but not a toaster (we already had one). Have a great holiday. Salute. Peter Steele 14Oct17

The room towels are white. The beach towels are pink. You are given a towel per person when you arrive. You can change them whenever you wish at the beach hut. When you leave and hand them in for the last time you are given a token to show to reception when you check out so that they know you have returned them all and don't get charged.
