I travelled to this resort with my brother and a friend and I can honestly say that this trip didn’t live up to our expectations. First I want to say that me and my brother have been numerous times to Cuba since the 90’s and know what to expect in manners of food quality, service et cetera at these all...

This trip was to be special - our honeymoon - and the first time we had gone all inclusive. We arrived on the 19th April after a long flight from the UK and queued to checkin (Thomas Cook brochure states Honeymooners have a dedicated checkin with wine, flowers and fruit...), we were told our room wasn't ready and to come...

This was our return trip to Melia Cayo Guillermo after going on our honeymoon. We were just as impressed the second time around! The staff definately make this resort and we were amazed by their attentiveness and professionally friendly manners every day. The food was also very good at this resort with plenty of fresh fish to choose from at...

I'm not sure if it is of any use to write a review on a resort that is now closed for three months but I will say a few words. We stayed at this resort from April 21-28th. Our trip was booked way back in September before any announcement of the pending closure. We paid an incredibly low price (less...

Just got back from the Melia Cayo Guillermo it was our 2nd time there in 3 years. It was nice to see some of the old staff that we made friends with remember us both. I love this place but a few things would have to change like the long wait for food and plates in the buffett at meal...

Just nicely back from Cuba for the seventh time in four years.. and I can honestly say this was absolutely the worst holiday I have experienced since becoming a huge fan of the country. I did not travel with my husband this time and instead with friends who had never visited the country before. I feel bad because I chose...

I just arrived from the Melia and we had a wonderful time there. The beach is beautiful, cubans are very nice and always smiling. Our first room was not what expected but we had the chance to change for $ but it worth it. At the 3rd floor it was calm and pleasent. The rooms needs painting but it was...

I just wrote a whole whack of good stuff and bad stuff for this resort. However, when I went to preview, I lost it. So I'll try to make it short and sweet. Place is due for closure due to renos for a period of 3 months, however, some anticipates it's going to be longer. This is our second time...

My husband and I just returned from 7 glorious days at the Melia Cayo Guillermo. We can't say enough good things about this resort. The food was good and lots of it. Yes, sometimes you had to wait for a plate or wait to have your choice of dinner cooked at the buffet but, I'm certainly not complaining as my...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Meliá Cayo Guillermo is located one of the most beautiful and white-sandy beaches with more than 1300 palm trees, and swept by very transparent waters. The area was an inspiration for Ernest Hemingway, and fishing the great blue river, always on his Pilar Yacht, he created part of his work. The hotel is perfect for couples and families but also for diving, fishing. We also organize the wedding of your dreams in this paradise. ... more   less
