Nice people and a very good room (Number 3) on the first floor. Balcony great for bird watching (toucan, hawks, vultures, flycatchers, etc). The room was spacious and airy, with windows on two sides. But it had no A/C, and it we spent one (of two) unpleasant, sweaty night after it had rained heavily. Hot water in the shower. Convenient for several pleasant restaurants. Unreservedly recommended for anyone who doesn't feel they need A/C!

just stayed at Los Volcanes & the service was exemplary - the receptionist/waiter was great, remembered my name & knew at all times where I was going, changed taxi reservations with no trouble. I've booked to go back there on my way out of San Jose as it's convenient for the airport & just a pleasure to stay for the budget!! Highly recommended
