Rio Celeste Lodge was our first stop after landing in Liberia for a 2-week trip. The lodge had been recommended to us, and we were not disappointed. The road to get to the lodge from Bijagua really requires a 4-wheel drive, but that is true for many locations in Costa Rica. We loved the simplicity of the rooms - which...

Let's be real — this is some very basic lodging provided by some very sweet people for a very low price in a very out-of-the-way place. I paid $12 for one in a room with a double bed and a bunk bed that could have slept four. I happened to arrive on a night when Doña Casta, the lady of...

Very eco lodge....modern, clean, airy......every room has a wonderful view of the gardens, and the northern volcano, and the rainforest hillside, and the sunset......fantastic bird sightings. Excellent three meals of innovative food. They are very accommodating of special dietary needs..... And the critters in the forest: snakes, frogs, butterflies, monkeys.....exciting!!!,

It's a very small and compact place and feels like you're outside the whole time. The grounds are nicely and simply landscaped, but there are no large trees right by the lodge. Besides visiting Rio Celeste, there is nothing...

The co-owner asked his cook to make us something, it was a chicken breast with mango glacé, it was delicious! All the meals were delicious and served really fast a couple of minutes after we sat at...

I was here with several friends on a spontaneous trip recently- we had so much fun in this place!- The owner, Martin is an excellent host, his wife cooks really well and treated us like family. He showed us the beautiful Rio Celeste behind his Casa and also took us to milk cows based on my request in the early...
