We were en route to our hotel from San Jose to Rio Celeste when we encountered the first hurricane Costa Rica has had in over 100 years! The dark, winding mountain road was becoming more impassable by the minute. When the road ahead became a river, we had no choice but to turn around. Without a single car/human in sight... More

I would highly recommend this Eco friendly lodge close to the National Tenorio Volcano Park/Rio Celeste. The accommodations were good, the food was great and the staff was fantastic! Eric and Crisal were super helpful and full of information. We stayed for 2 nights. It rained alot but that just added to the charm of the lodge with all the... More

This ecolodge was incredible, blending in with the landscape, and making it's guests also feel as part of the peaceful natural setting. It showed that lodging can be built to be low impact on the environment, can be beautiful, interesting, and so comfortable. Ahhhhh....It was a bit pricey, but included delicious, chef prepared meals on the veranda overlooking the mountainside... More

We had a wonderful experience. The food was absolutely amazing. It was by far the best food we had in all of Costa Rica. We felt bad that at dinner, we didn't have enough room for dessert. It is a quiet place, open aired like most places in Costa Rica. The bird watching was amazing, and there are a lot... More

We had a pleasant stay for 3 night. The lodge is situated in a beautiful volcano region abroad the main tourist stream. The atmosphere was warm and familar, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The dishes were excellent, costa rican kitchen (fresh from surrounding farms etc) with a french-european touch. No buffet, but i didnt miss it. Every breakfast... More

A beautiful boutique hotel a few kilometers away from the entrance to the park. We were prepared for a lot of rain (we know how is the weather there) and we had the most amazing afternoon full of sun. Rio Celeste was like a river from a fairy tale. The hotel is absolutely perfect: 1) Food: delicious!! I love it... More

We spent three wonderful days at the lodge. Got valuable tips from the host, and enjoyed the stay. Specialities dinner with a good combination of European and regional cuisine, it did to us. The rooms are furnished in a great style.

“There is no AC, but with the windows open it cooled off plenty at night during the green season. Small-ish showers with no tubs, which wasn't an issue for us. No pool, which wasn't an issue for us. The room decor was really charming and made of recycled materials in some cases. Very bright and airy. ”
