checked in to a deluxe king room around 8pm..the room was fine except for the aircond was not cooling..called the operator to have it checked, a technician came and adjust the vent, told us to give time for the room to cool down, after 1 hour, still the same. different technician came, and they were quite rude and told us that aircond temperature was not properly adjusted and they left. few minutes after that, the reception called and offer us to change room, it was midnight but since i could not sleep, i agreed to it. shifted to a different room, it was very2 far away from the first room and on a different floor. i thought the new room was better, turns out the lights near the bed and the toilet light could not be switched off! technician came again, they manually unscrewed the bulb, but for the toilet light nothing can be done as the problem was with their “central” switches. we were advised to just close the toilet door and luckily the toilet door is quite light-tight so room was not bright as i like to sleep in the dark.
my stay in this hotel could have been better if you check the rooms before removing your guests from a faulty one.

pool was very far away, there is no nearby lift to get there, we have to walk around the hotel to get to it. but the pool is huge, clean eventhough it is quite old.

breakfast was quite nice with wide selection.

overall this hotel is not that bad considering it was built some 20 years ago. if the small glitches are well handled, i would recommend this place.

Hotel was good. But, it does need a minor fix. My room does not have a working fridge , problems with light switches and the bath tub could use some repaint. Overall, the accomodation, service and hospitatility was great.

As soon as you proceed up the long pictureque driveway to The Place, you feel a sense of comfortability. You are then welcomed by The Place staff members which they are more than accommodating towards your personal request.I have found their willingness to help you to achieve your wishes and to assist you with other activities was 10 out of 10.
The Carousel restaurant staff members are brilliant and they show a high level of customers service, which they take the time to explain what is on the menu.
On a personal note, all the staff members at The Place are outstanding and the service they provide is definately a memorable one. The Place is our preferred choice of accommodation whilst visiting Malaysia. Take the time and stay at The Place as you will not be disappointed.

This is a fabulous hotel and our first impression when we arrived we were staying in a Sultan's Palace and every bit as impressive inside.
The rooms are spacious, there is everything you need for your stay. We found the pillows very hard but on asking if there was any softer ones two soft pillows were delivered in minutes. There is no safe in the room and the hotel only accept ringgits but that is our only quibble. The food was very good as well. There is a boat at the resort which takes you right into a huge 5 storey shopping mall which lots of restaurants and only cost 15 ringgits.

Terrible. The place is so run down that it should be totally demolish and instead build a new altogether.

Lifts are smelly, toilet is smelly, parking can be flooded, wall paper peeling.

I would be scared to stay as it feels like haunted hotels

I had a pleasant stay in your hotel and my daughter almost missing her way from lobby, your helpful staff Priya found my daughter confused and lost at lobby and staff help to give her hand phone and call me to inform. As a 5star hotel it would be more reasonable and nice if staff at front office or reception bun their hair neatly following hotel SOP and groomed their self with make up. As hospitality industry all hotel staff front line must bun their hair and simple makeup to look presentable. I be been working in MAS for 15yrs and a small advice to improve.

In 2003-2006 I lived in SE Asia and traveled extensively. I used to love traveling to Kuala Lumpur; business associates got me a reduced rate room at the Palace of theGolden Horses. At that time, 2004 and 2005 when I stayed there repeatedly, the hotel was rated the first 6 star hotel in the world. I think base roommate then was over $600 a night. So was shocked to travel again to KL and had lunch at the hotel and roommates around $100 a night and was now a 5 star. Very disappointing to see.
