The room is like a house you left for a month, myb due to pandemik. But still comfortable with basic amenities like funtioning AC, fridge, TV (no cartoon channel), Iron with board, water boiler, coffee, tea and sugar. I like the bath room as it is clean and got a bath tub. There is also a hot water which sometime is not functioning.

Would recommend for room with lake view. The view is nice to relax.

The man made beach pool is nice for kids to play with sand same as you are at the beach. For the pool, don't expect for a crystal clear water. The color looks like the lake color but still safe to swim.

I will give 4 star if most of the facilities operate as usual. But so far there is no cafe open myb temporarily and no free breakfast.

Chose to stay here as it is the closest hotel to the Mines Convention Centre MIECC where I had to be. Finding the hotel entrance was a nightmare as there were no directional signages from the main road! Found it only after asking security at the MIECC entrance.

Room furnishing and fittings are pretty dated - could use some updating. Occupancy must be fairly low as I had to wipe down all surfaces (table and bathroom) which had a coat of fine dust from being left for a while. Otherwise, room was fine.

View from the balcony is a winner! It overlooks the lagoon pool and Mines lake which made a pretty panoramic picture. Thumbs up also for staff attitude - I was pleasantly greeted and attended to promptly by everyone I encountered throughout my stay.

It would not be an ideal holiday destination - there's really nothing much to do around here. However, if you need to be at the MIECC like I did then this is the best choice. It is a short stroll across the driveway and walking distance (6 mins) to The Mines shopping mall where there is plenty of eateries, shopping and a cinema.

If at all there needs to be improvement, it should be the breakfast spread. The variety could definately use some major changes in terms of choice and presentation.

this is my 2nd time coming here. came here on 5-6/3/21 with friend & come again on 10-11/3/ with family.

i recommend to choose DELUXE PLUS or villa instead of CLASSIC ROOM. yes classic is the cheapest but there is no view u can see. the attraction here is the pool and lake view.

there is free parking at the basement but we choose to have the valet paking which cost us rm10 per day since it was too dark when at night.

View is great. Room is clean. Heater & aircond functioning very well. BUT astro channel only 3 channels available which are cartoon & 2 sports. 1 more thing toothbrush need to be requested from reception. so RIDICULOUS! they also wont provide any extra towels even if u request for it. if hotel is full house i could be more understanding but that time only few rooms occupied.

by the time i come here there is no cafe open. that means no room service. either u have to to THE MINES in front @ order from food delivery. for breakfast they outsourced from other party. only nasi lemak available@ RM10 & they will send to your room at 8am.

POOL looks not really clean eventhough they said just cleaned the pool. the balls floated in the pool also very dirty. but its very worthy for the photo. beautiful scenery. at night there are colorful light at the pool until midnight.

TIPS: if u choose CLASSIC/ DELUXE PLUS room please request at level 4. because at night its very dark & level 4 is where lobby is located. so it wont be too scary to pick up your food from food delivery rider

On December 22, 2020, I booked Philea Mines Beach Resort using Booking.com. However, I have trouble looking for it at night (around 11:00 pm). The surrounding of The Mines and its buildings were dark, and there was no street light as well. That place was just like an abandoned place, and it was filling with many stray dogs. That made the driving at night even worse. After wasting about 30 minutes searching around for the resort, I decided to cancel the booking.

The Mines was like a dead place; that made me thinking that I was scammed by Philea Mines Beach Resort whenever I reached The Mines.

On December 24, 2020, I contacted the Booking.com to request for a refund. Then, I was told by the Booking.com that the Philea Mines Beach Resort rejected the refund. After that, I made a call to the resort. The staff told me that their cancellation policy doesn’t allow them to make a refund to me. The cancellation policy is written as following:
Note that if canceled, modified, or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

I was there searching for the Philea Mines Beach Resort for about 30 minutes, and I still couldn’t locate it. Then, how is it possible for me to show up in the first place. The Mines was in bad condition, and they wanted us to pay the price because we couldn’t locate the resort.

Philea Mines Beach Resort staffs were bad at rectifying issue; they kept pushing the refund problem to Booking.com. Again, the Booking.com said the refund was disagreed by the resort.

I am here to warn everyone not to book Philea Mines Beach Resort using Booking.com for holidays. Hope this would help all of you.

Unfortunately we did not have a great experience here.
The hotel although it may have been beautiful in its day has not been maintained and is very run down.
The staff and breakfast were its only redeeming factors.
The room was dingy and mouldy especially in the bathrooms which had a lot of mould under the soap dish and the shower curtain.
The bathroom was also not clean with hair from a previous guest still in the bathtub.
The sheets and towels were stained and there was some kind of grime on the headboard which I cleaned off myself.
The water never went above luke warm.
We chose this hotel due to its proximity to the stadium and didn’t choose the cheapest hotel in the area to avoid getting a dud.
Therefore as a last and final comment value for money is not good either.

Do not do the same mistake by choosing this hotel as you will only get disappointed by the service and the cleanliness of the place, unprofessional employees 90% of the staff they don’t speak English which makes simple and small requests a big challenge. Room was full of dust not cleaned properly and bathroom full of bugs. We paid a good price to enjoy and ended up checking out early tho our booking was non-refundable. Will never ever stay here again even if it’s for free .

Checked in this morning, from the entrance We were shocked by two bell boys standing at the entrance and no one offered assistance, we had to carry our luggage’s by ourselves. Lobby very disgusting so many works happening. Reception staff were very poor and unprofessional. We approached the guy informing him that we have a booking instead of welcoming us he gave us a very weird look and he looked at the time and told us ‘’ sorry but the Checking time is at 3pm ‘’ ( we arrived at 12 noon ) then we asked if he can register us and we come later for the keys which he agreed. The checking progress was very stressful as 3 staff were talking to each other which confused us on who’s doing what and who’s assisting us . While waiting for the room we went to the pool area where no one is there to help with towels we had to walk look for someone. The pool in the pictures gives you different idea however it’s not the same it’s very dirty and not for swimming, the sun loungers very old and not comfy to lie down and relax the towels were used and there is No bar or restaurant to eat there very boring ... finally 3pm came we Checked into our room 206 very small room with a small and dusty balcony with no view . We had to call and request for different room with better view which they provided us 207 however we found the fridge full of water inside/ dirty. Overall the service and the stay is not up to a 5 stars hotel not even a 3 stars , with the same value of money there are so many better options.

I have no words to describe the hotel and don’t know where to start. Firstly check in was so so slow. Then I requested for extra bed and the costs was 130 which I paid but till midnite the bed never came though we called them many times ... Room was looking so so tired ... towels were so old and dirty.. I was so so disgusted
Worse part we ate at the restaurant and our food came two hours later. I order a can drink and it never came so I decided to help myself with it.
Everything about this place is unbelievably horrible
I ended paying 436.50 for one miserable nite
For that price I would stayed in a nice hotel in Thailand
Bad service and bad be everything
Never again

I arrived here after a badly scheduled flight which landed in the morning. It was the only option from my local airport in the UK. The reason it was badly timed was because I had been travelling for over 24 hours and arrived in the morning. So was expected to be turned away from reception to come back at 3pm. I was turned away to come back at 3pm. So an excellent place to go is the local shopping mall a short walk through two multi-storey car parks. There was plenty to do there, I even went to the cinema to watch a movie in English. I arrived back to hotel around 3pm to a massive queue of people trying to check in. I was told to sit in a square of seats near the reception desk to wait for a room to become available. Could do with the concierge or staff serving free drinks where there are massive delays like this, this should relieve the stress on the reception staff that were inundated and also make the guests feel as though they do exist as well as stopping the guests from dehydrating in the hot reception area. Several hours later I was still not in my room, no wifi in reception to contact my family, they only have wifi in the rooms. Eventually I was placed in a villa which was extremely nice. The wifi in the rooms was so unreliable I had to purchase mobile data for my phone and laptop. It was very dissapointing for me to see such a beautiful hotel to go from full to completely empty the next day, it was such a pity because it is a beautiful hotel. Next day I had breakfast and service was amazing and the food was good. The location of the hotel is amazing, a great view of the lake, the hotel is also amazingly well kept with an open plan reception area. Overall I would say my check-in was maybe a one off so I would stay at this hotel, the staff were genuinely nice once they were over with the busy check-in trauma. The prices were also reasonable for this grade of hotel and the location was very nice. I have downgraded it by one star because of the check-in problems, I had a missed housekeeping day, it was slightly dis-organised and the concierge didn't help me with my bags which I would expect from a hotel of this quality. I think if they improve those elements they could well have a five star hotel that westerners find a good place to visit over and over again.

Room was a bit dated but it was spacious, clean and in good condition. Bed was comfy too. Breakfast provided had limited options but it was good enough for a short trip. The Mines shopping center is walking distance.

Complimentary parking is at the basement level of the resort but there were no lift going up to the lobby only stairs. You'd have to drop off large luggage at the lobby first before parking at the basement if you want to avoid carrying your luggage up the stairs or dragging them though the car exit/entrance.Not very convenient if using public transport. You will need to call a Grab/Taxi.

Overall, I was satisfied with my 2-night stay since my meeting was nearby.

They have really helpful staff so they may be able to. I guess it depends on how busy they are and if they have ur room cleared out. But the lobby has a lovely seating area and there's places where u can get refreshments.
