This was a last minute booking following a rather disappointing booking nearby which we cancelled. Lovely hotel in picturesque area of which we have fond memories of a visit ten years previous. Evening meal very nice sat out overlooking the square. Breakfast typically French.

This hotel is part of the Logis de France group of hotels and exactly what I hope to get from a Logis. The hotel is full of character and the room was lovely with a comfy bed and spacious bathroom. One of the staff spotted us parking the car on the square and came rushing up to help us with...

Back in France after 18 months, it was hard to recognise Le Puits Dore. All the scaffolding is gone, and I believe the new rooms are great. I was taken for a romantic birthday dinner, and the 23 Euros meal was just perfect. Congratulations to Olivier and his charming romantic staff

In Richelieu you don't have a lot of choices, especially in early March. So we booked into Le Puits Doré thinking we would have a room and dinner. We were offered our choice of two rooms, the more recently renovated room was extremely spacious but had low beams so we took the smaller room which was fine. Come early morning...

My husband & I stayed here in 2011, we stayed in a double room on the top floor I believe we had maybe the loft room. The hotel was traditional which was lovely and very nice interior, it's in the centre of the village so of course perfect location. We didn't get the breakfast which is extra as we were...

We have known and stayed at Le Puits Dore many times in the past six years. I find it hard to recognise it from the comments made by your British correspondents. It is clear many do not understand what to expect from a classic French Hotel. Reading most of the French comments it is clear they do. Olivier Blanc and...

3 of us went for a quickish lunch...we got what we went for...the grilled goats cheese was good...the braised pigs cheek as part of my 13 Euro set menu was also in fact very good...the veal was a little tough (23 euro menu)...the mange tout were boiled to death... If you find something of interest, the 13 euro set menu...

Unbelievably putrid and shocking service. The hotel room was as expected for a basic logis 2 star, no complaints about the cleanliness of the room or the fact you couldn't swing a mouse, never mind a cat about the room, akin to that and actually possibly featured in the film Being John Malcovich or possibly even the Cabinet of Doctor...

We stayed at this hotel on our way to Moustey and the horrendous Hotel Le Domaine! The hotel is in an old building and so there are compromises but the town is quiet and the car was quite safe parked in the square outside the hotel. In fact, the town was so quiet we wondered where all the people had...

“If you plan a longer than 'overnight' stay, choose a larger room higher in the building to lessen the likelihood of hearing the regular sounds of a busy market square! I'm not sure how often the market occurs in a week, nor of how often the rubbish is collected - might be worth checking if these events are likely to bother you.”
