The room is spacious and clean and comes with a patio for guests to rest outside, read or just enjoy the view. The bathroom is also spacious and lovely. Activities - went for a night-walk, a boat ride and trekking to Lata Berkoh, plus a quick stop at the Kelah Sanctuary. The best part was the famous canopy walk accross...

The resort is at the entry point of the jungle. Tapir can be spotted even in the resort. The meal prepared is good. Get yourself some mineral water and snack before reach the resort, it will be cheaper. The room need more maintenance. Bathroom is big. The bed is already used for long and never been changed as it can...

You get to and from the resort in a motorized longboat. About 3 hrs going up and a bit less coming back. Try to get e seat on your own so you can stretch out and visit a toilet before you embark. The resort consists of a central reception and restaurant with individual cabins dotted around. We opted for one...

I came to stay at Mutiara Taman Negara a few weeks back for my company's team building event. It was my first visit to Taman Negara, and I was pleasantly surprised by my stay and experience here. What I love about it is it's proximity to the jungle and the canopy walk. Just a short hike with a designated tour...

My friend and I stayed at the Mutiara resort as part of our trip to Malaysia. It was definitely the best accommodation, giving you the beauty of the jungle and the comfort of a resort. The staff were very helpful and the rooms were clean. Given the location you do not get the luxury you may expect in a resort...

Taman Negara, Mutiara Taman Negara Resort I stayed four nights in bungalow. Three hours boat trip to National Park was great journey and nice start for jungle days. The resort is very very nice. The situation is perfect, just near by park headquarter and national park. Bungalow was much better than what I exepted. All bongalows have own terrace where...

The title says it all. Don't expect luxury but you will be comfortable. You are in the rainforest so there will be bugs and things will go bump in the night. The rooms are nice and comfortable, hot showers, comfortable beds, great views. The cost of the food on the resort is high, but you are paying for the location....

Being in the pure jungle it is a really well maintained resort. Very nice chalets, but some of them pretty far from the restaurant and reception. Some monkeys around but really quiet and not harmful. We didn't eat at the resort restaurant except for the breakfast (good one) but they serve delicious cocktails. Wi-fi is only available in the close vicinity...

Overall this was a great hotel, right in the rainforest. Considering where it is, they do amazingly well. We stayed in a "bungalow" which was actually a 2 bedroom two storey wooden house with plenty of space. The bathrooms and showers were very modern and clean and the beds were fine. We caught the boat across as described which added...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Mutiara Taman Negara Resort, PahangDiscover the wonders of an ancient forest at Mutiara Taman Negara. Pitch tent or check-into this forest reserve and bask in the natural surroundings of the Taman Negara park. Mutiara Taman Negara, an eco-tourism Resort that offers a variety of accommodation types promises guests this unique experience with basic amenities and sufficient modern comforts. A virgin jungle expanse covering 4,343 square kilometres, Taman Negara was established in 1939 and is the largest park in peninsular Malaysia reputed to be The Best Kept Tropical Rainforest, thanks to its protected status. With minimal damage to this special ecosystem, Mutiara Taman Negara is dimly lit to avoid scaring off wildlife and conserves energy. Everything used is biodegradable and all the wooden chalet interiors are made of natural produce. Guests at Mutiara Taman Negara will wake to the drone of cicadas, the chirping of bird species new to them and a myriad of other unfamiliar sounds that form a consistent cacophony unique to rainforests. You will begin their adventure at your door step or veranda which makes a perfect perch especially for nocturnal sightings. Sighting wildlife outside the chalet is a norm and the fruit season attracts the most number of wildlife, from the mischievous long tailed macaques, the beautiful chestnut-breasted malkoha and the thorny porcupine to the gentle slow loris. The ancient life forms that blanket Taman Negara are impressive and during each visit, Mutiara Taman Negara gives its visitors the opportunity to glimpse at the flora and fauna species estimated at 10,000 plants, 150,000 insects, 25,000 invertebrates, 675 birds, 270 reptiles, 250 freshwater fish and 200 mammals. Some of the flora and fauna found in Taman Negara are rare or indigenous to this country. If you are not travelling with a group, you can plan your trip to Mutiara Taman Negara well before you arrive or enlist the help of guides at the Park Centre. Things to do at Mutiara Taman Negara include river cruises, guided walks, bird watching, fishing, swimming by waterfalls and night safaris. The world’s longest suspended canopy walk is the most popular activity in this rainforest and you have to be prepared to queue for a while. Secured 40 metres above the forest floor, visitors have a good vantage point from here and if lucky, you can sight some curious animals. The only people who are allowed to hunt and forage are its original inhabitants, the Orang Asli people who still live a nomadic lifestyle. They farm, fish and hunt in the park and nowadays play host to curious visitors armed with flashy cameras. The women may shy away but the men folk can put on a show with some advance notice. Travelling to Mutiara Taman Negara, guests can either do the four hour scenic drive down or board a coach from a designated location in Kuala Lumpur for a 3 hour drive down followed by a 3 hour boat trip down river ... more   less
