Stayed at Fournet House and got the room on the top floor, I think it was Magnolia room. Anyway, a bit from the average hotelrooms I stayed in :-) This is more like moving in with someone in their apartment. Open fire in the bathroom, cd-player with a variety of music to choose from etc etc. The hotel is a...

Our first night in Scotland and we decided to go for the unusual. This time a year Fournet Guest House was one of the few accommodations to even reply to my enquiry. We were the only guests (maybe even the only tourists in Dufftown), had a room with an en suite bathroom and enjoyed the comfy bed. Last but not...

My brother and I stayed here with a couple of friends from Germany. We were on the Whisky Trail and the Fournet is well located for lots of distilleries. There are also a couple of good pubs for whisky and beer just round the corner. One is also a good restaurant. We weren't sure quite what to expect of Fournet...

I stay in many guest houses due to my occupation and this must be the worst I have ever stayed in the smell of cats was unbelievable, the rooms were dirty and the clutter was worse. Did not have breakfast as I was worried about the cleanliness of the place. No sound on the television in the room a shared...

Trip advisor's response to a review of this type is 'we encourage visitors to read all the reviews so that they can see this review as a mere aberration.' I see it as an opportunity to thank all the people who have helped me especially the firm whose disinfectant has such a high specification that it can be used in...

My first impression was the strong smell of cat urine in the common areas. Alison has a few cats, and while they stay mostly confined the smell permeates. It's not so bad in the rooms, especially higher up, but I still needed to keep my windows open to be comfortable. My next impression was of all the pillows and trinkets...

Thank you for your response which I have only just read and I have to say I am totally horrified and appalled to read your words. I can only apologise, I am so very sorry and will take every precaution possible to ensure that guests are both more than comfortable and really enjoy staying here at Fournet. Yes, the internet...

We had a wonderful stay here thanks to the helpfulness and graciousness of our hostess, Alison. She is a marvelous cook, very accommodating to our special dietary needs. Before we came to Dufftown for the first time, she gave us information on taxis and other things via email; really went above and beyond. The house has two living rooms and...

Attracted by the colorful car in front of the Fournet House and the bright exterior I wanted to check it out! Inside I felt like Alice in Wonderland. The rooms have so many decorative things, that looking around feels like a treasure hunt. Little baskets, lamps, mirros and cushions make this place everything but your ordinary guest house. The bathroom even...

We had a really lovely stay at Fornet House, Alison is a very welcoming hostess and a great cook. We really enjoyed the breakfasts and also enjoyed a very memorable late supper of Scottish smoked salmon and French red wine. We stayed one night in the yellow theme double room and another in the pink. Both have beautiful and quirky...
