I stayed at the Palm Garden hotel for 7 nights on my first trip to Barbados in January, 2018. It is a small, basic, no frills hotel that seems popular with guests looking for an affordable stay on what can be an expensive island. Quite...More
I am bemused by some of the negative reviews, yes it is basic and a little tired but surely the price reflects this.

The Palm Garden Hotel is a small, older, very clean, basic hotel. Don't expect luxury. The staff are very friendly, and helpful. You will have to ask for beach towels and hair dryer if you want them,

The Palm Garden didn't provide pick-up/drop-off from/to the airport, but there's a Taxi dispatcher right outside the airport as you exit who can direct you to a taxi. I had checked on the Barbados website under Taxis and Transfers and found their rates to various areas in Barbados, and to St. Lawrence the price was about $15 US or $31 Barbadian Dollars. I can't remember the exact price we paid, but it was close to these quotes. The hotel can phone for a taxi for you when you want to leave - although from what I've seen on the Barbados website, it sounds like trips returning to the airport often cost more.
