Lovely property in a serene location near Chinon. Decor was a mix of modern and traditional. Staff were pleasant. Nice bedding and very comfortable room. Cosy fireplace in the lounge area. A nice rural Chateau retreat.

The Chateau De March is beautiful. It has a long tree lined drive as an entry and then a complex of buildings dominated by the main four story structure with turrets. It is out in the country, use GPS, and is surrounded by farms and horse pastures. We spent two nights and did not find a single reason to complain.... More

Had wonderful stay at Chateau de Marcay. Dinner at restaurant 2 nights, very nice. Highly recommend. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Grounds were big and very cozy. Relaxed outside one day playing games and drinking wine. Great time and Marcay!

We recently went on a Backroads Bike Trip through the Loire Valley. We stayed at 3 very nice Chateaus - but this was the nicest property. The food was excellent and the ground immaculate. A number of different rooms, settings to take in the scenery. Unlike some of the older Chateaus there was air conditioning.

We stayed for a couple of nights as a couple, with our large dog. The reason we selected this hotel as opposed to others was the history of the building, and the fact it was dog friendly. Little did we know the food would be so good, we could have stayed a few more days. The staff are very friendly,... More

We enjoyed our visit to the Chateau de Marcay. The property is spectacular. Several hundred years old and in the middle of the countryside. The common areas are meticulously maintained. A beautiful bar room and living room. Our room was located in the west wing of the chateau. It was spacious, with a private terrace. Strong wifi connection for those... More

The good: -beautiful chateau -restaurant was phenomenal -rooms are nice -surrounding area is postcard perfect -reception was great help in organizing outings and reservations for us The bad: -not a full service hotel, no help with bags or luggage at all, leaving us to carry all or luggage to our rooms on the 3rd floor, almost injured ourselves doing this,... Internet advertising, by definition, always promises the best. The website for the Chateau de Marcay is stunningly photographed and although a little frustrating to navigate, promises so much. And it delivers. A meticulously restored 15th century chateau with equally impressive grounds. Without exception the staff are friendly and helpful. Our room is a good size and immaculate, with two sinks... More

Dear Peter C, It is with great pleasure that my team and I discover your comment, I'm glad you had a pleasant stay in our house. I'll be sure to pass your compliments to Chef and Sommelier, which are the best reward for their work. Concerning air conditioning, in fact, we made the choice (assumed) not to equip our beautiful... Superior Room provided in an outbuilding not as shown in website in castle. Room quality is poor small and no showers . It claims horse facilities but has old ponys only for children. Needs a complete upgrade!!!
