Following several recommendations from friends the wife and I went to the Haymaker today 08 Jan17 for Sunday lunch. I was a little apprehensive as I'm lactose intolerant and have had some disastrous meals when eating out but I needn't have worried the staff catered for this excellently we had a lovely 3 course meal with a surprise whilst I...

Friendly and fun, we booked this place for my partners 40th and invited the family from all over the UK. Despite a mix up at the start with not enough chairs and pre-ordered meals, they quickly got it sorted and we were all seated. The food came quickly and there with no complaints, with vegans, vegetarians and gluten-free, it couldn't...

My friend ordered tomato soup which arrived so thick she could stand her spoon up in it. On tasting it was bitter and lumpy. Not a very good start. Next came mushroom risotto which was...

Stayed here for three nights. Had a decent room that was right for my wife and I. There was plenty of hot water and the towels were changed daily, the new owners have been in for a few weeks and are making great strides in making changes. The food in the restaurant was excellent and you got sent on your...

This pub is now under new management since August Bank Holiday this year. We had never visited prior to last night but what a fantastic welcome. The menu had several gluten free options which went down well with my partner as she has to be G/F. The service was outstanding and the food was wonderful and extremely reasonable. We will...

Stayed at the Haymaker whilst working in the area. Owners were hospitable and room large and very comfortable. Pub downstairs is cosy and home cooked food excellent with generous portions. Will 100% be returning when working in area again.
