We were welcomed to the lodge by a very friendly and warm staff. The rooms are situated to the left and right of the main area. Depending on your room this can be a fairly long walk. Alternatively if you are closer to the main area you hear all the cases being wheeled down the walk way. Dinner was very...

Nice but could be much better. It is run by the government maybe be the reason Buffet meals were not that great and very unpleasant woman at the bar. Also, for some reason, housekeeping removed my luggage locks....very odd

These are the only lodges inside the Park which means that game drives can begin early and one can watch the dawn from the dunes at Sossusvlei, nearly an hour's drive from the Lodges. The individual lodges are made of local materials, are along a raised walkway and face the desert plains with large windows. They blend into the landscape...

We booked Sossus Dune Lodge because we wanted to be in the park before sunrise and after dawn. Indeed this appeared to be a great advantage. With our excellent guide Sam we were the first in the morning at deadvlei and we could see the sun set at dune 45. The sunrise tour with Sam had to be booked at...

Of course the location inside the park is the major benefit of staying at the Sossus Dune Lodge. You have the chance to be in Sossusvlei for the sunset. And believe me, it is worth being there for sunset. If you ever have the chance to visit this place, be at the dunes, especially at Dead Vlei for sunrise. Magical,...

On our photographic journey through Namibia we stayed at Sossus Dunes Lodge and what a delight it was! The accommodations were great with each room being a separate tent type chalet. The interior of the rooms were beautifully decorated with very comfortable beds and lounging chairs. Each structure had a large patio that overlooked into the vast Namibian Desert. The...

Although we considered this Lodge to be over-priced, considering the overall service available, the early morning and evening access to the Dunes made it worthwhile. We left an hour before dawn the 3 mornings we were there, an advantage that's not available if you lodge outside. The lodge is run by a tourist company and although the facilities themselves are...

This place is a Park-run establishment, competing with some of the private luxury lodges nearby. Superb location, excellent chalets with floor to ceiling windows in order to better gaze at desert and stars at night. Food and service are basic, as earlier reviewers noted, but ok for us. Also, there is no airco in the (excellently furnished) chalets, but you...

Pleasantly surprised about this property considering we had low expectations. The rooms were great although a bit of a hike from the main communal area. The food was disappointing but we knew this and came prepared with our own snacks/drinks to enjoy on our front deck whilst watching the sunset and the amazing stars at night. The staff were not...

The lodge is in a good position inside the national park which means that you can set off before sunrise to watch the sun rise over the dunes which are a 30 minute drive down the road. The view from the chalets is very good and the verandah of each is quite private; not overlooked by any other chalet. The...
