We were on a snowmobile trip from Ivalo, and stayed nearby, but booked a meal for 6 and ordered King Crab in advance, it was absolutely stunning! Real cosy but basic restaurant, but great service! Very basic small cottages on the bank of a beautiful river. The smallest cottage has 3 beds and a small kitchenette, no running water. The toilets and showers, which are also very basic, outdated and quite ugly, are in separate buildings close by. Well, at least there is hot water, soap and toilet paper. We stopped here on a three day snowmobile safari of Finland and Norway. A warm welcome greeted us and a some great home cooking - all locally caught produce. Accommodation in Neiden. Fjellstue/Mountain Lodge by the Neiden River consists of 14 wooden huts, two buildings with sauna, showers and toilet, a large outside barbecue with a roof over it and a wood-fired outdoor bathtub. The lodge also has a cafeteria, which serves food based on local traditions and raw materials. The cafeteria is fully licensed. Up in the mountains we have 6 wilderness cabins with sauna. Perfect for hiking and fishing. Neiden Fjellstue is located 50 min.from Kirkenes and 30 min.from the airport. ... more   less
