A nice hostel situation just outside the village surrounded by mountains and a great view of scale force. The hostel is kept clean and tidy, has a small self catering kitchen and lounge. There is a good sized drying room and dining room. The campsite...More

This YHA is in a wonderfully, peaceful location. Fantastic views in every direction. Plenty of walks to do from the door. 5 minute walk into Buttermere where there are a few cafes and hotels. Recommend the short walk to the lake as the views down...More

Excellent location surrounded by mountains but hostel needs updating as charging hotel prices for private rooms but in need of renovation. Parking also minimal. Just a few minutes walk to buttermere village and lake with pubs nearby

My sons and I prebooked our evening meal and breakfast so we didn't need a fridge,however there is a communal kitchen for those who wish to self cater. My sons brought their own hair dryer but I don't think the shower room... More
