First experience with agriturismo in Tuscany - loved it. Nice spacious room in loft. A bit warm but to be expected for time of year. Fantastic location, close to San Quirico and wine centres Montalcino and Montepulciano. Rustic, which means things were basic and not necessarily new & modern. WiFi is flakey in the rooms and could use a upgrade.

Have been staying at the Residenza for 7 years, twice per year. Michele the inn keeper made this trip worth the repeat visit. Kind, helpful and extremely accommodating. I returned this past March following the death of my father only to find Michele gone, the property in disrepair and the charm lost. Within moments of arrival I found myself explaining... More

We agree 100% on all the positive comments made so far including, location, views, clean, spacious, stylish, wonderful garden, dogs... The only notes being that the owner forgot we booked breakfast and didn't provide any (yes, he refunded us that cost), so we had to go to town (only 2 mins walk) and also the fact that during our 2... Not a 5 star hotel but you feel like you are staying in history. A really simple B&B but the antique charm is irreplaceable. My family enjoyed the large lap pool and the small kitchen and the separate bedrooms in our "apartment". A quick one night stay but the location was perfect (excluding what must have but a dog kennel... More

We promised to write Michele a review on Tripadvisor, because he was such a great host and the place was amazing. We had a wonderful few days chilling out. I remember running to the pool from the top of the hill and jumping in. Great local restaurants, though conservative in their offerings.

Il Poggiolo was ideal accommodation for our two week (6 – 19 July 2013) cycling exploration of the Crete and Val d’Orcia. We enthusiastically recommend it for the location, service, facilities and ambiance. This was not our first stay in the area but was our first time at Il Poggiolo. We would return and highly recommend it. Our plan was... More

Coming here year by year, Michele the manager and host of this wonderful place is gone. We discovered that the place lost a great deal of its charme and personality. Not only stay guests away, the maintenance of the builing suffered and the place is empty. For travellers who want to be alone, just having an apartement and a quiet... More

I first discovered Il Poggiolo in 2004 while leading a photography tour in Tuscany. Although my group was staying in a different agriturismo at the time, we were invited to dinner by another group of photographers we'd happened upon, in a poppy, field earlier the same day. Since then, I've been bringing my groups to Il Poggiolo, and sending friends,... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for our summer vacations. The place is quite nice, and our apartment was spacious and comfortable. The village is some five walking minutes away, and offers many opportunities to eat well. In fact, we are both food lovers, and of all the places to eat that we tried, we found the very best to... Many positive aspects to staying here (we've been here 5 times during past two years). Michele is your host and he is clearly at the top of any list of positives. He's very helpful and willing to offer advice on places to visit of things to do (plus he makes a great afternoon espresso). The location is fantastic situated just... More
