Went here for the first time after it being recommended by a friend, when we arrived we were greeted by the staff who took our drinks order and was then shown to our table, my wife and I was amazed at the interior of the pub it was like going back 50 years and I mean this in a nice...

a small and quirky pub that's set within 3 or 4 terraced houses. guaranteed if you didnt know about it, you'd drive past not knowing it was a top restaurant! northern fried chicken goujons to start and a chorizo & applewood cheese burger w/ chips. both sublime! didn't really know what to expect with portions but both were perfect. would...

We booked this to treat our friends to a lovely evening out. Two of us opted for the Spanish mussels on the specials menu, they were delicious & very filling. The other two had pate. For our mains we all opted for chateau Briand. For me it was slightly overlooked having asked for medium to suit all tastes but it...

great ambience, excellent food and attentive staff. varied menu and excellent value choice of wine and beer adequate. only downside is parking. Which in bad weather could be off putting We had a great table and not over crowded and not noisy so as a group we could engage in conversation

The food here is very well presented and really you cannot find fault. We both had a 2 course Sunday lunch priced £13 which is good value. Some people would be full with just the main course (we both had roast beef). Good selection of draught beer, and the staff are very friendly. The problem is the interior still reminds...

Had a great table ideal for us, in a corner big enough for the conversation to include us all rather than the usual two tables pushed together. Great selection of gins to start our evening off. Menu is varied with standard dishes but also plenty of specials. This is where the but comes. After our initial drinks had been downed...

Went with family for a lovely Sunday dinner. This place dosent look much from outside and could easily be missed as it is just on a bend. When we arrived, shown to our table straight away and food order taking prompt. We had pate and muscles starters, just lovely, followed by a muscles as a main, steak and a wild...

We enjoyed dinner bed and breakfast at this busy and well-run establishment; friendly and efficient staff served a wide menu well cooked - beer kept in pristine condition - a small but well chose wine list. Room was small but comfortable with a beautiful view over the hill opposite; a bit noisy but then this is a busy pub-restaurant, and...

The pub is on a busy road and the car park is about 100 yds away, but it didn't spoil our visit. Great atmosphere - wonderful characters in the Bar - food very good - very friendly owner and staff. Altogether an enjoyable stay and we would recommend it although the accommodation is a little tired.

Went for lunch today to celebrate my friend's birthday with four other ladies. An extensive menu made it difficult to choose but although I fancied the scallops I went for the porcus sausage and mash, two others had the venison. All our meals were top quality and the gravy needed a spoon! Awesome. I could have eaten everything on the...
