All had food from the specials board. I had the duck, asked if it had vegetables with it was told it did. One tiny piece of broccoli and a cup of rice. The duck had very little meat on it. The salmon though well cooked did not have enough sauce. Deserts . were the best thing of the meal. The...

We met friends at this very pleasant welcoming little pub. We all had two courses and in the main were very pleased with what we were served. The baked Camembert and the Seafood Cassolette, all served with fresh crusty bread and a very small portion of butter, were all superb hot and very tasty. To Follow we had Wild Duck,...

What a lovely pub. Great food perfect after a lovely walk on South downs. Nice atmosphere and they welcome dogs. Perfect! Good for families too. Limited parking though. There are lots of good walks nearby. We went at lunch time.

The Giants Rest! The hidden jewel of Sussex... An absolute must visit venue that plays a perfect role in being a warm/welcoming pub to enjoy a relaxing drink, equally as well as it plays an excellent restaurant with a spectacular well thought out Menu! I've been coming here with my family for over 10 years & the food was always good & atmosphere welcoming & games on the tables so good overall country pub; especially after a hike in stunning surrounding countryside. Unfortunately, the friendly man behind the bar who treated everyone like an old friend has been replaced by a young, stroppy girl...

Being early there was no one else there so was able to have a choice of tables. At first the barmaid didn't appear very friendly...

We booked here for my husband's 40th birthday celebration. We hadn't eaten here for a few years but it had always been good food and friendly. We now understand this must have been prior to the change of ownership. All started very well with a very warm and friendly barmaid. However, once we took our seats and the waitress, who...

We dined here in the evening. The atmosphere was very pleasant and we were warmly greeted. Food was okay although the choice for vegetarians is limited. Salad accompanying my meal was huge lettuce leaves and the dressing tasted like a commercial mass produced variety. My meal was not the best although the new potatoes were delicious.

After a long walk up and down Cuckmere Valley we were ready for a meal. We stopped somewhere that looked great from the outside, but the inside just didn't live up to our expectations, so we moved on and found The Giants Rest. Not so promising on the outside, but so glad we tried here. The atmosphere was relaxed and...
