White, rendered building standing in open countryside yet only 2 or 3 km outside Cachi. Delightfu,l airy well furnished public rooms. Well furnished bedrooms with views over open countryside. Clean outdoor pool with recliners and extensive views over surrounding countryside. Good service and food both at dinner and breakfast. Family run hotel.

peaceful paradise in the middle of nowhere. The road from Cafayate requires a 4x4, we had a poor Ramonda Chevrolet which I don't know how had taken us across 5 hours of bad road but we made it. The hotel is very well run, clean and the dinner/breakfast is very good. Wine list is not bad either with some wines...

La Merced del Alto is built as a classic and beautiful convent in a wonderful setting above Cachi overlooking the beautiful landscape below the dramatic Andes. It provides a great recluse setting from your travelling, and is a great vantage point both for exploring the beautiful town of Cachi, and for trekking in the region. The restaurant is very good,...

An oasis a little bit outside of Cachi at 2180 m, awesome panoramic view to the mountains in all directions. Building seems renovated, but it is new, designed by the architect to look like a monastery. Some fancy solutions here and there, particularly in the lounge, but rooms are very bright, airy and comfortable. No aircondition. Windows have mosquito protection...

I was a little hesitant driving up to this hotel on the several kilometers of dirt road you have to take to get there. Once you arrive, the first impression is that it is an old wine estancia that was converted to a hotel. That impression was maintained upon check-in, when we were told that there are no rooms with...

We traveled all over Argentina for our honeymoon for 3 weeks, and this is the single place that I decided needed to be reviewed. It was an absolutely idyllic stay on what was a remote roadtrip through Salta province. The terrain is already beautiful (in a unique desert sort of way), but the surroundings of Merced del Alto were exquisite....

This place has marvelous views on the mountains and is quitely located out of town. Food is good, service is too. While the area is serene, the rooms are a bit noisy though. The swimming pool is not inviting, a bit greenish, but for me this wasn't a setback. I had a great time here!

This is a beautiful place above Cachi, looking like an old building or covent, but in fact new and extremely well managed. Welcome is at the international level, something we have yet to find somewhere else in Argentina! The room and bathroom are large and well equipped. The whole place is extra quiet. Gardens are wonderful (in a simple non...

Beautiful, looks like an old building but built quite recently, well designed and wonderful textiles, decorations, paintings. Welcomed at the door (after long drive on dirt road and lost) with a fruit rum drink. Suite was huge, had separate room with two beds for the kids. Pool beautiful, in the countryside with lovely landscaping and we saw a fox in...

The rooms are large and simple, with opening French windows.the bathrooms are a good size with plenty of towels. There was a small bunch of lavender on the bed which was a nice touch, wonderful smell! Dinner was very good, quite a complex menu which took us a while to translate, we felt that the waiter was getting a bit...
