Modern and well-equiped hotel with roof top bar and cafeteria. Good quality food, and convenient location. Less than 15 min by taxi to a big mall. Talking to other colleagues, they agreed is the best choice for a stay in Sugai Petani.

The variety of the breakfast is bit lacking and hope it can be improving. Overall, my stay is generally pleasant. Is 4 stars hotel. Parking available nearby the hotel. Given 2 breakfast vouchers during check in and rm200 deposit required.

The Purest is a good choice when visiting Sungai Petani. It offers standard hotel amenities for an unbeatable price. The rooms are big and clean and is sufficient to stay for several nights. The service is genuine and friendly. Food during events and in-room dining was good. The breakfast selection could be improved. Overall a pleasant stay.

There is a lot to love about the Purest Hotel in Sungai Petani starting with the room decor. It reminded me of the style of many small boutique hotels I have stayed at in Northern Italy over the years. Simple stylish and elegant would sum it up. The breakfast spread here again ranks with some of the best I have experienced at any South East Asian Hotel. Catering no for both Western and Asian taste it offers a good selection to both. I ate a very satisfactory lunch in the restaurant on the ground floor on one day, which again was good quality. Vegetables that accompanied the dish were nicely presented on the plate and mercifully al dente, a feat that many hotels worldwide fail. Where it is let down: The marble bathroom floor, whilst stylish, is a virtual deathtrap when wet as it becomes dangerously slippy. This is as mentioned in previous reviews and could be solved with the simple addition of a rubber floor mat. Being a supposed 4 star hotel and given it has a swimming pool I would have expected bathrobes, but there were none. When I enquired I was told they were available at the pool, they were not. When I enquired at reception no one seemed to have a clue as to wheter they had them or not. I was eventually told they did not provide them. This, despite me having seen the same in the housekeeping laundry basket. The pool area is a bit of a mess with stacked chairs here and there and no staff until 4pm. In the meantime it's seems to be used by hotel staff wanting to have a smoke. The pool itself, whilst great, is missing a number of tiles which looks a bit shabby for a 4 star. Note to management, some umbrellas by the sun loungers would be great for shade in the scorching rooftop sunshine. Lastly, I ordered room service on one evening and it was delivered without cutlery or condiments to begin. The food itself, a chicken burger, completely tasteless so a disappointment. As I said to begin with a few well placed tweaks and this Hotel could be wonderful and warrent the claimed 4 stars. Would I stay again and would I recommend it? Absolutely!!

Not bad service although we have to wait 1 hour for check in as we arrive early. Breakfast choices are limited but not bad. Fruit juice being served at good style. Toilet is very slippery when wet, be careful. The king bed is so high and we have to climb... the rest is good.

It was 2nd business trip stay. Choose this hotel because convenient to the work place and near to highway exit. However, it wasn’t a pleasant stay. The linen wasn’t clean enough and the towels were smelly and started to have rashes and couldn’t have hot water from the heater after running the water for almost 20mins throughout the stay. Found some unwanted debris in the bathroom as well as underneath the bed. It took edges to switch on the tv, wi-fi was very slow and couldn’t do office job and have to connect with my own data to access to the internet. The switch plug point near to the bed side wasn’t convenient to use as it was faulty at the switch on and off button as it was too close to the plug in point. Went to the coffeehouse to have my breakfast. 3staffs were standing at the entrance and busy chatting among themselves until I have to excuse myself to ask them about the sitting arrangement. Breakfast selection wasn’t great. It was a simple selection of foods. While I’m at the buffet counter to have my food; my table has been cleared twice with the cutleries and coffee cups. And there again, I have to get another set of cutleries and coffee for myself. No doubt, it was less than 10tables were occupied but the staffs were not observant neither friendly or courteous to serve neither to assist. Didn’t have much time to check it out with other facilities at the premise. Overall, those guest’s who are not fussy will not make it as an issue as they come after office hours for rest and continue with some office work. The management need to look into the cleanliness and services as the room rate wasn’t cheap for the rating of the hotel. As a business traveler, prior booking has been made without any preferences yet the process of check in was slow. Look like the staffs are over stressed up as non of them smile except for the morning staff who attended for checked out. I guess they have new team members on board and still in learning process.

This would be my 3rd time stay in this hotel. It was initially called The Pure, now its called The Purest. Don't know why ! The executive rooms on the 2nd floor are the best. Not only do they have a balcony (although no privacy) but also have a large working room, furnished completely and the very decent size bedroom. Plenty of water bottles, which comes as a bit of a surprise, especially when hotels go to ridiculous lengths to reduce the size and number, nowadays. Before, during check in, the guest would be given a small, compactly folded face towel. It's no longer given...The Sky Lounge is the jewel in its crown. Has a nice view of the city, not that there is much to look at. But it relaxes one after a hard day's work. The swimming pool is very nicely lit with balloons and led lights, making it very good to look at and brightens the evening. Breakfast variety and service is quite good, with the staff very attentive, polite and friendly. Front desk staff are ok. A bit more cheer in the dealings would help greatly. A good experience.

This is my second time stay in Purest. The hotel still feel brand new. I think the most modernd hotel in Sungai Petani. Located at the highway exit Sungai Petani Selatan. Many shop and restaurant with walking distance. Room is nice. Quite spacey. Water shower pressure is good. Same goes to aircond, function very well. No unpleasant smell because the room look quite new. Just need to becarefull with toilet floor cause quite slippery. Maybe not wipe or rinse properly. But still unsafe foor old citizen and toddler. Got outside and basement parking. But think maybe not enough during peak holiday or big trips. The breaksfast is average delicious but i satisfy with the environment. Overall, i think the best hotel in town for now. Highly recommended for personal, bussiness or family trip.

7 September 2019 marked the opening of Sky Lounge on level 9, Purest Hotel. This open air restaurant is very nice. My family and I enjoy the view of Sungai Petani town. Being on level 9 gives us the vantage point of the surrounding area. Since today was the opening, we were treated to many types of food. On the buffet table there were fried rice, fried vermicelli (beehoon goreng), spaghetti aglio olio, the usual finger foods, fried chicken, fried prawns, many types of cakes etc. Service : the staff were attentive and friendly to us. They were quick to respond to our request for extra serviette, our orders of juice and coffee. All in all, the staff did a good job. Ambiance : nice view, good seating arrangement that ensures privacy to the diners. There is also a swimming pool and this is an attraction of its own. + points : a) free parking and there's ample parking space in the basement and also around the hotel compound. b) Sky lounge offers good ambiance for private functions c) Mr Elan, marketing and event manager is a good listener and he listens to customers.

The hotel may look new & modern, but the service is bad. And don’t give an excuse that it’s the holidays, because that’s what hotels are about & when they make money. Let me list down what’s wrong (Business Executive Room) - Leaking faucet in the bathroom, called the maintenance TWICE and no one came. The water sprays EVERYWHERE when you turn it on. - Even the shower was leaking - Room smells musky - My sister’s room had a lot gecko droppings - Receptionist wasn’t welcoming. One had a vibe like she didn’t want to be there. - Breakfast is until 10:30am, but there were no food left at 9:30am. One guest had to tell off the manager to refill. If breakfast is until 10:30am, then make sure there’s food until 10:30am. - TV channels limited to news, sports and AXN. No movies (whattt?????????) Definitely staying back at Park Avenue or somewhere else next year. What’s good: - Comfy bed. (When it’s not filled with droppings)
