We booked this hotel for a one night stay. The only reason for visiting Sungai Petani was as a pick up point for a bird watching trip. There do not seem to be many other reasons for a foreign tourist to visit the town! The hotel is a fair distance north of the town centre. Our initial taxi transfer from the railway station cost 20 ringgits. A Grab ride to the clock tower cost 7 ringgits and the taxi back to the hotel was 15. Both times we asked a taxi driver to take us to the hotel resulted in an animated discussion amongst the assembled cab drivers as to where it was. It is not yet, therefore , well known in the town. If you get similar problems tell them that it is near the hospital and next door to the community college. I found it difficult to review this hotel. Undoubtedly we had good value for money as we only paid 90 ringgits (<£20). At first glance, with the water feature in reception and the lounge areas we passed on the way to our room, it had the feel of a more expensive hotel. Our room was quite small. It had a kettle, a/c and tv but no fridge or safe. The bathroom was ok but the “hot” water tap in the sink never delivered anything that approached tepid. The shower water was scalding however. Tip - the shower head in our room reached the sink so you could get hot water for a wash or shave that way. Cleanliness was not at a premium, our bed clothes had been written on and we had ants in the bathroom. We were asked for a 50 ringgit cash deposit at check in as well as full payment by card. The deposit was returned when we checked out. We were given vouchers for a “simple” breakfast so, given what we had paid, we were expecting toast and coffee. While the breakfast we got was far from the best we have eaten the was a surprising range. Water melon, cereals, porridge / soup, rice, noodles fried eggs and sausage were also available. There are a few shops and restaurants near the hotel. A big bonus is that there is an excellent Chinese seafood restaurant (Jade Garden) a couple of minutes walk away. Based on the price we paid I have give a four star rating. My wife, who is more fastidious than me, would have given a three.

Stayed at this hotel during the 2nd day of raya on 16 June 2018. We just walk in and book. We stay at the Queen size room for rm 130 per night. The room is really spacious, with huge queen bed, kitchen drawers and huge toilet. It was a pleasant 1 night stay and we really had a good night sleep. I especially love the wall decorations. Highly recommended for those travelling with big family since that the room is really spacious, clean and comfortable.

I take room for 3 persons. 1 single bed and 1 queen bed. The room quite big and clean as well. The room ID was so cool. I love it. Wifi so good and so fast. But the only problem for me is the toilet. Quite slippery. Carefull okay. Hotel location is just nice. Near with Amanjaya mall. Breakfast is good. Dont expect too much la coz we pay cheap maaa.. atleast they serve nasi lemak, nasi goreng, kuew tiaw goreng, mushroom soup, bread, hotdog, nugget, cereal, fruits and drinks.. so, everything good for me and worth it.

This was my first time staying in K Garden Hotel and for me it was a very good experience. It really exceeds my expectation. Never thought that i would have a great stay with the amount that i paid (below RM100). The room was well equipped, clean and adequately-sized. Free breakfast coupon made my day. The food was good enough, acceptable to my taste but limited choices. Wifi was excellent. Totally recommended. i would love to stay here again anytime soon.

I had a one night stay in this hotel with my family. We booked 2 rooms. The location, service and surrounding were OK... However, if you are really particular about hygiene and cleanliness, I won't recommend this hotel. I can easily spot the stains on the curtains even without my glasses on. I was a bit confuse regarding the actual color of the blanket. Was it white or cream? I really can't tell. Perhaps it is a high time for the management to get it change. Like I said, if you're not really particular about the curtain, blanket or the bed sheet, this is really a NICE hotel to stay... but if you do, perhaps you should look for others.

I will break down the review in parts: 1. Location It is quite far from city centre, around 5-10 minutes driving. However the area is convenient, not crowded, and plenty of parking spaces available. Near the exit of highway as well, so it's not that hard to find. The only downside is the lack restaurants within walking distance. 2. Room The room is the real value of this hotel. I stayed at Standard Room (only myself), and thoroughly enjoy the spacious room area, the cleanliness, the ambience, and the furnishings. Toilet is excellent, very neat, hot shower working well, nice interiors, and they are generous in shower gel, shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrush, and the sanitary packs. Mattress and pillows are comfortable as well. Sufficient power points for multiple gadgets. No wardrobe though, they only provide hanging place for your clothes. Plus they there is kettle in the room with complimentary Nescafe and mineral water. 3. Service I do not stay long enough to require any special service that is worth noting. However I'm satisfied with the receptionist counter in dealing with her. 4. Price The price is competitive with a number of other hotels in Sungai Petani, and affordable in its own class. I have never stay in any other hotel in Sungai Petani so I cant make comparisons in terms of price vs value. For those with tight budget, there are also budget rooms with shared bathrooms. Overall Verdict Highly recommended for solo traveller or those in groups, if vicinity to the city centre is not your priority.
