My family stay here for one night via phone booking on 13/2/15. Location is centralised, near to food street, night market, shopping area and bus terminal. The room check in and check out process was fast. The room is clean, tidy and spacious. One small set back was the aircon remote control not functioning properly, however the staff are very attentive to settle the problem.I highly recommend this hotel to all.

Reserved this hotel as it offers 2 Queen-size beds in its Premier Deluxe Room (RM70), so we thought it was suitable for family with young kids. Was a little disappointed that the room given was on Mezzanine level, but turned out OK, as the room (M50) does not have any windows (not even one), so we did not get any street noise.
The surprise was that there were some German cockroaches found in the dressing table and in the toilet. Otherwise, the room & toilet looks clean.
Likes: 1. Price - you cannot beat RM70 for a room with 2 Queen-size beds. 2. Reasonable cleanliness. Service is OK - the receptionist was able to tell us the official coupon-parking hours (8 am to 5.30 pm) for the roadside parking in front of hotel. 3. Room size is reasonable. 4. Free secured Wi-Fi at lobby and room. Ask Hotel reception for password.
Can be improved: 1. Pest Control (do something about the cockroaches in the room). 2. Bathroom should have a simple shower curtain to separate the shower area from the rest of the bathroom. 3. Shower head needs to have adjustable tilt or tilt holder, so that the water will shower downwards, instead of towards the sink. 4. Drainage for sink was not professionally done (see picture). It drains straight into the drain hole, which was not covered. Perhaps this is where the cockroaches appear... 5. Pillow case appeared old/ not white. Can be thicker material, and whiter. 6. No separate non-smoking room /level provided. The lobby and corridor smelled of tobacco. 7. The very small and limited hotel car park behind was full, and looks really run-down and not maintained. Would not advise anyone to park their new car in that carpark, as it is really cramped, and may be easy to get your car knocked or scratched.
For the price we paid for the room, I guess we cannot expect more.

We had a wonderful 3D2N stay in the Townview Hotel. Very happy with services starting from enquiries, reservation, check-in & out processes, room service & etc.
WIFI connection in the room is stable with fast speed. The receptionist is very friendly and helpful. The water pressure is good and the heater works well. The hotel is well located - safe and convenience to go Wetex Parade, supermarket and eateries.
Premier Deluxe room (Room 337) is spacious, bright, clean, comfort and meets all basic needs. It will be perfect if there is a mini Refrigerator.

I have stayed in this hotel with my partner for one night and we were very satisfied with the overall hotel. Before we reached the hotel, we called & made a booking. But the hotel reception told me that the deluxe room (RM 60) has fully booked and only left superior deluxe room just RM 65 only. So, we decided to take superior deluxe room. During our stayed, the room had queen & a single bed with six pillows which is very clean & comfortable. Some more, the hotel provided the Free-Wi-Fi in the room & hotel area. Conclusion, we can say that the hotel price is reasonable with a big, clean room. We will stay in this hotel again.

So surprise Me! the room was more good that i thought, never thought RM80 can get this type of room..awesome~ this is the 1st time at Muar and we from Kelantan come here to work few day..looking for room price cheap,just what we wan.The room was clean,free wifi,hotel worker also friendly & helpful...it was a great time stay at this hotel...some more near shopping centre and have famous Kambing soup nearby this hotel..Really good time at here, will come next time and stay back this hotel again....

I just book a room and will be staying on Saturday 17th August 2013, and i believe it is a good hotel with a good room. But what makes me disappointed is that the rate shown in the website for Book Now Rate is RM60 for a deluxe room, but when I call for booking the staff say that it would cost RM90 for that room. I don't know, maybe it is weekend rate but atleast you should put it there. I told him about the Book Now Rate and he said that the RM60 price is for 1-2 years back and they did not update it at the website. Anyway, the staff is good and helping. I just hope that the management will take note about their website.

We didn't even get to stay here despite the fact we have pre-booked online for 2 rooms. The front desk totally messed up our reservation!
As usual, being the fussy one, I volunteer to be the one doing hotel reservation. Despite great experience in D99 Hotel, I thought why don't give other hotels in Muar a chance! Townview was selected, not just because it is the cheapest as compared to street view and Riverview but also because of its location, sandwiched between supermarkets and shops.
Anyway, after a long tiring day celebrating Eid with family and relatives and commuting between 2 towns in Johor all the way from KL, my family (Hubby, myself and 3 yr old son) and our maid, were really looking forward to retire to our hotel at around 9pm on a Saturday night. Imagine how we felt when we were told that only one room (1 King bed and 1 single bed) was reserved under our name. How can that be as our confirmation clearly states 2 room and there's no way we can accept just one room as we have our maid with us!
AFter checking, they found out that the person who did the reservation ws mistaken and booked us in one room only! And to make things worse the whole place was booked up! As the rooms were fully paid, I wanted my money back and they say it will take approx. 2 weeks for the refund. I was not happy at all. Finally they decided to send us to their sister hotel, RIVERVIEW but we have to top up some amount of money. Because we were so tired, we just accepted the offer and really needed thegood night rest especially our little boy after a whole day's journey.
Even though the reception appologised, Idon't think a mere apology is enough. I think that if it was the hotel's genuine mistake, which in this case, clearly is,they should give a full refund immediately or, at least put us up in another sister hotel at their own cost.
So, yes, my review is not so much about the hotel but just be careful with them when you make reservation online.

This is a newly renovated hotel and all the amenities work well. The water pressure is good and the heater is good. The staff are a bit lost at times but you can't expect 5 star standards here. The only drawback is there is limited basement carparks bays, less than 8. You have no choice but to park the car on the street.
