2023 Travellers' Choice Best of the Best
On the shores of Lake Toro, in a region of extraordinary beauty, Patagonia Camp is South America's first luxury camp with an elegant collection of glamorous yurts. The hotel's 20 immaculate and spacious Yurts are comfortable and stylishly furnished, equipped with central heating, private bathrooms and even views of the stars through a central roof window. Activities include kayaking, hiking and fishing excursions on the private property or the Torres del Paine National Park, named the 8th Wonder of the World and just a few miles from the hotel. The restaurant offers a variety of typical Chilean-Patagonian food with a gourmet touch, such as Patagonian lamb, southern salmon and much more! Patagonia Camp is a unique experience in nature and a truly different concept, out of the ordinary, comfortable and in deep contact with the natural environment!
I suggest you explore Patagonia Camp’s excellent website, peruse the photos, close your eyes and dream of a perfect experience, then multiply by a significant factor! The accommodations, dining and drink in combination with expert trekking guides and experiences are unparalleled. Sincere thanks to GM, Rafael and all the superb staff!

Patagonia Camp is phenomenal. Once of the best experiences we have had when travelling. The accommodation is amazing, in a beautiful location. The restaurant is brilliant, high quality fine dining and the bar and waiter staff are very attentive, kind and helpful. Diego is a wizard at making cocktails and all of the restaurant staff are brilliant. The excursions are brilliantly planned out. Our guide, Nacho, was superb. His understanding of the local area, the physical geography, local history and ability to take us on difficult hikes and see amazing wildlife (Puma's, plants, birds) alongside his photography skills is world class. We felt very lucky to experience Patagonia with a local guide as knowledgeable as this. If we can return we will do. We'd also like to thank…

We've been all over the world and stayed in countless styles of accommodations, and Patagonia Camp is our favorite. The setting, views, service, warmth of the staff, food, beverages, excursions, guides, proximity to hikes...all were excellent. The yurts are not like staying in a hotel room - you can hear/feel more noise including the sound of the wind, but we enjoyed feeling connected to the ruggedness and beauty of this place. Highly recommend and we hope to return someday!

We were floored by the personal attention from each member of the staff. From the border transport (Pablo. What a special special man!! He not only got us safely from the Argentinian border to Patagonia camp, but he was attentive, patient, and above all- KIND), to the management staff (Edgardo especially made our stay truly spectacular. He went above and beyond to move a new bed into our other room when one of our group members got sick. He also made sure to know each guest by name and follow up on anything that was needed or discussed), to the waiters and kitchen staff (Francisco was especially impressive when it came to drink orders and he was always smiling! The food was also incredible. We’ve never experienced such beautiful food - or so much of it!), to the general staff…

Patagonia Camp is an immersive all inclusive experience. All food and excursions are included. We stayed in the luxury yurt with a hot tub and the accommodations were amazing. You can lay in your yurt and see the stars through a plexiglass circle on the ceiling. Truly amazing. The yurts were heated at night via a water radiator and heated towel rack in the bathroom. During the day the yurts get hot but we were not there most days and you can open the windows to cool them down. The hot tub was amazing especially after walking for 10+ hours on the climbs to Torres Base (downside is the hot tub closed at 10 pm). We had views of the mountains and of the lake from our yurt and throughout the property. Excursions are decided the night before by around 9 pm. They really try to…

Patagonia camp is a once in a lifetime experience. Patagonia is absolutely stunning and this accommodation is first class. From the moment you arrive the staff is there to welcome you. They have all the little details covered and the food and drinks are fantastic. Our excursions were fun and intimate as they are shared with only one or two other yurts. We wish we could have stayed longer.

We stayed at Patagonia camp for 4 days. We arrived and were greeted by the staff and given a quick tour. That evening we had an orientation meeting to decide which hikes we wanted to do during our stay. The meeting was very informative and we decided on the hikes we could do. The guides were very knowledgeable during the hike pointing out different flowers and plants native to the area along with the history of the hike. After day of hiking we enjoyed a beverage at the bar and dinner which was outstanding. The yurts were very comfortable and quiet even in wind. I can’t say enough good things about the staff they are always there to help with any question you may have. Would go back in a heartbeat.

We spent four nights at Patagonia Camp and can't imagine a better way to experience Chilean Patagonia. The yurt accommodations were unique and luxurious, the food was delicious, and the service was TOP NOTCH. All of the staff are professional and friendly and they go out of your way to make you feel like you are at home. In addition to the beautiful lodging and accommodations, the excursion/guide service was exceptional. The logistics were easy and the guides were experts. They had fun with us out on the trails, taught us about local geology and wildlife, and made sure we felt safe. We hope to come back son and would definitely recommend Patagonia Camp! Todd and Emma

This is a very nice place with great staff but it is horribly over-priced. The setting is stunning although it is on the west side of the National Park which is not the grassland area and so a long way from any potential Puma sightings. The hotel does not offer Puma excursions – for that you have to pay extra – and it’s a lot! I don’t want to make it seem that this is not a great place, it is simply not worth the money. We have stayed in thousands of hotels around the world -we have never paid as much as for this hotel and I honestly wouldn’t do it again. The yurts are quite small and there is no way to create dark because they have a clear ceiling which is both like being in a greenhouse during the day and then let’s in the nearly 24 hours of light that is here at this time of…

Responded 30 Dec 2023
Dear CarolMatthews12345, we are pleased to read that you valued our staff as a fundamental part of your good experience with us. Indeed, this is a characteristic that has always distinguished us and for which we are internationally recognised. An example of this is the attentive and diligent attitude shown by our Guest Experiencie team, looking for the best way to satisfy all your needs in order to provide you with a memorable stay. In this regard, I would like to point out that all information about the hotel, its location within a native forest and the programme chosen prior to travel, was sent to you in a timely manner and did not include private excursions of special interest such as puma tracking and bird watching. So, to describe us as "a very overpriced hotel" due to the high cost of the external services we kindly agreed to organise for you, is, we believe, not in line with reality, nevertheless, we apologise if this factor influenced your overall perception of the hotel's costs. Patagonia Camp offers private excursions at an additional cost to complement the service we provide: full and varied programmes of guided and self-guided tours, a restaurant of high culinary standard, open bar, transportion and a luxury yurt, with a great hotel service. Above all, we intentionally offer an experience of intimate and special contact with nature, with actions and surprises that seek to sensitise our guests and reconnect them with basic human emotional aspects in a friendly, communal and sensitive environment. It seems that by not wanting to participate in the induction briefing that all our guests attend, you did not have the opportunity to review key aspects of your programme and make the most of your stay with us. Finally, I sincerely hope that you will be able to return to this beautiful corner of the world to continue touring Chilean Patagonia and thank you for taking the time to share your experience.
