Booked in February 2022, received confirmation but when I arrived I was told it had closed down 2 years ago. The couple had split up and it was up for sale. Had to find alternative accommodation quickly which fortunately I managed to do.

We recently returned from a stay in the shepherd hut and have to say, what a great place to be! Beautifully appointed with everything you want for a comfortable stay. There is also a lovely bathroom with a shower a few steps away. We were very impressed with the whole place, which was spotless and so comfortable. Our host, Allie, was as helpful as always and was available should we need anything - we didn't because she's thought of everything! Thank you for a fabulous stay and we will see you soon!

Only stayed here for one night as we were attending a funeral, but what an amazing find, which we will one day return to. Lovely clean accommodation, an amazingly comfortable bed, and all that is needed after a long day driving. A lovely wood burner to take of the chill, which we did use, although ample duvets and covers are supplied so we didn’t really need to light it, just seemed a shame to not make a cosy evening. The only regret we have, is not getting the chance to thank Ali in person, as we left fairly early the next morning. Truly lovely place to stay if you love peace and quiet.

We seem to always strike lucky with B&Bs for our holidays and this was no exception. Ali and Pete are lovely folks, the room was light airy and clean. Good breakfast to start each day and plenty of coffee! We had a really lovely week and would love to go back again next year. There is a pub nearby which does good food, and nice beer so all in all pretty much perfect.

Quiet St Mabyn shepherds hut. Perfect for Port Isaac. The owners clearly imagined themselves living in the hut and ensured nothing was lacking. Spacious, decorated beautifully, warm, comfortable. Definitely recommend.

The place was pleasant as were our hosts. They were also very accommodating with the parking of our motorcycle on their patio ..Unfortunately the carbon monoxide alarm went off at 4am on the second night. We mentioned we were worried about this and we were told they would look into it. It then went off twice on the last night at 2.30am and 4.20am. Our 4 night stay left us feeling like we needed to get home to our own bed after 2 nights of broken sleep... we also left a little bit worried as to what it might be and if we could have be in any danger... Had we realised that the bathroom was across the garden we may have thought twice... this is ok when it’s dry and warm, but as we were awake in the middle of the night for reasons beyond our control, crossing the garden at 2.30am in the cold and rain was a bit of a pain...leaving the door open at that time of night to vent the place just in case was also a nightmare...we also noticed that one side of the double glazed window in the door had also been smashed at some point and the glass had not been cleared from the frame. This was a bit dangerous and all the jagged sharp edges were still sticking out of the beading like sharks tooth’s. Not great if your in the dark trying to open the door half asleep with an alarm screaming... all in all it was a ok place but I hope they sort out the fire/carbon monoxide alarm for others as a relaxing holiday can soon turn into something that can stress you out. A location doesn’t make a place great... it just makes it an ok place in a great location.

We stayed here using our Tesco reward points. The Shepherds hut was bigger than we expected, and there was ample room for 2. It was clean, tidy and there were some lovely touches...crocs and bathrobes to cross the lawn to the shower room, a very cute radio, and tea, coffee and milk. The bed was so comfy, and the little log burner quickly made the hut very warm.Breakfast can be ordered for an extra £5 per person. This was delivered to the hut at a time of our choice. Breakfast was first class, and well worth having. The only negative was the view from the hut..it was very close to the house , but once we pulled the blinds,at night, it was so quiet you could have been in a field!

Allison and Pete really looked after all our needs. Recently renovated rooms were spotless, modern and very comfortable with our own ensuite. Alison's local knowledge was a great help. The local pub was only a short stroll from the property. We would highly recommend this B & B. Thanks Ali and Pete. Regards Kaye and Glenn PS: The vegemite at breakfast was great.
