The most difficult part of the experience was to initially find the hotel, because the tiny streets in town of Shangri-la are not yet updated on google or yahoo map. Once we found it by asking locals, we were pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the rooms. The rooms were beautiful and extremely clean, and the bathrooms were huge....

This was the worst hotel we stayed in our entire trip in Yunnan, 1) Requested for a heater for my parents room and it did not arrive after the second time requesting it after 4 hours. 2) Breakfast wasn't like how it was shown on the photo at the entrance of the hotel. 3) My parents room was flooded, got...

We were a group of 5 couples staying 2 nights at this hotel and we were all terribly disappointed with the conditions of the hotel (rooms, lobby and surroundings included). Everywhere one could see dirt and rubbish. Some of our toilets were even smelly. The bathrooom of our friends was flooded when we checked in. There was also not enough...

Very bad service and hard to find location. Rooms dirty, found several ear buds and toothpicks on the carpet. Pipe in bathroom burst. Staff not helpful. There is a blackout during my stay and the staff dont even bother to tell us when we walk into the hotel. Never stay here again

The hotel's located in a quiet sidestreet (which get's a little creepy at night) and still is very central so you can easily walk to the central placa and back. Originally, the place was very nicely designed: decor, color, bathrooms... But we were very disappointed to see, that the floor in both the room and the bathroom were really dirty...

Tucked away from the main drag (if such a thing really exists in Dukezong) and set in a very nice traditional Tibetan house. A bit of work going on but the rooms are awesome. Lovely bathroom, great shower, soft beds, lovely linen and fantastic decor. For the price I think this is great value but by no means hostel prices....

Very good hotel, located in the heart of the old town of Shangri-La. Rooms are spacy and very clean and, one a more general note, comply with all standards of occidental hotel rooms. A translator works for the hotel which is very helpful to find the best places to visit in the county.

We stayed two nights in May and enjoyed it very much. Our twin room was large and very comfortable with a private terrace and floor heating which worked very well. Breakfast was good but you had to pay for coffee, tea was included. At least the coffee was excellent. There is also a terrace to have breakfast or snacks/coffee outside....

A boutique hotel located just on the outskirt of the old town. Quiet and easy to access. However, we noted there are some construction taking place opposite and next to the hotel. Rooms are large, especially the bathroom. There is also a balcony attached to every room where one can sit if you can take the cold. Rooms are well...

What we like: Good location, clean and comfy room, decent bed, good bathroom and big shower. Room for improvement: There was only 1 English speaking staff who wasn't always there. It was quite frustrating when you need to communicate and you can't speak Mandarin. When we came in the room was already pre-heated for us, which was nice. But we...
