Stopped here one night on the trek over the mountain - as per the advice of other travellers carry on to "halfway" if you can - we stopped there for a drink in the morning and it seemed to be much better. The accommodation at Tea Horse is about as basic as it gets - the rooms are not terribly... More

This guest house is simple but clean. It is properly maintained and serves good food. More than anything, this guesthouse offers wonderful views over the gorge and is ideally situated, more or less halfway on the trek.

It took us 7 hours in the rain to get to Tea Horse, starting out at 11:30 after catching the first bus from Lijiang. We are not the fastest walkers and would have found it impossible to get to the next guesthouse (Halfway) before dark. We found the room to be wonderful: clean, well kept, with electric blankets for warmth,... More

We arrived at the location by car so we were not tired on arrival and we had the pick of rooms. The newest accommodation block is very nice, we had twin beds the sheets were clean and the bathroom was cleaner than expected. It had TV of course no movie channel plus internet. There was a balcony out the front... More

Night was coming so it was impossible to continue our trek, we stop hazardously in this guest house and what a good surprise !! We had a small bed room (2 single beds) with an breathtaking view on the mountains for only 45RMB/ person. Shower and toilets are in a separate building and shared, all super clean compared to local... More

Very basic facilities Bathroom barebone. Very low water pressure Room big enough Very thin mattress Electric mattress, no other heating No sound proofing. If next room is noisy you won't find peace however reasonably clean, obviously great location in the middle of the trek Any the highlight is the food: vast menu, in English, Chinese and wester fare Large quantity... This place is extremely professional, unfriendly and overcrowded. When we arrived we were ignored despite polite requests in both Chinese and English. After about 20 minutes we were told that no room would be left, that it would take two hours to half way (which is a lie even if you walk in a very relaxed way) and that our... More

We stayed at Tea Horse because it was the first guest house we came to after a long hike from the upper gorge. Our kids were super tired so we stayed the night. The service was rubbish, very very rude apart from the mother. The daughter tried to rip me off by saying I had to have two rooms (I... More

The location is great as you will be able to enjoy the mountain view from everywhere. The room is small and very basic, but you would stay in this guesthouse at the end of a day of mountain trekking, so you will be easily satisfied with the fact that you have a bed, hot shower, and modern plumbing. The water... More

The views from the guesthouse were beautiful. However the 6-person bedrooms were very basic for 40 RMB/person. Our roommate also snored nearly the entire night. Towels were provided in the rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We ate dinner at the guesthouse after a more than 6 hour trek from Qiaotou. Dishes are around 15-30rmb each. Ask for... More
