This is about the only option in Amecameca but we needed a place to stay in order to get nearer to Popocatapetl. We had done some research and knew what to expect. However, although quite basic, this is quite a good hotel and certainly very cheap. Staff are really helpful/friendly and the central location, on the town square, is a...

Good option to rest if you go hiking for Itza or Popo volcanoes. At first glance it seems crappy, but it's actually quite clean and facilities are OK. There is a hot shower, but the linen and towels do not impress. It's located at the main square. The park headquarters is located in the same building. You can buy the...

If you just need a plain place to sleep and take a shower before heading to the Park or after you come back-this hotel will meet these essentials. Central location in town with access to cheap and tasty food at the market, pharmacy, supermarket just across the town square is a great convenience and will compensate for a disappointment you...

Don't expect frills, but as far as budget options go, they don't get much better. If you're in Amecameca to go to the national park, you are in a spot right on the main square that is cheap, clean, with serviceable WiFi (in some places) and friendly. Some rooms are definitely nicer than others and if you're willing to spring...

The location near the market and good food was alright, but the rooms and building were not very good at all. The place was dirty and amplified sound. The worst part was that our toilet wouldn't flush and we had to find un-used rooms to get to use the restroom

This is pretty much the only obvious choice of hotel if you wish to hike in the nearby Paso de Cortez. It is right by the central square, which makes it convenient but very noisy. The church next door rings bells at any odd hours, such as 6am on the Sunday when I stayed. Annoying!! Some rooms have toilet cover,...

Probably the main reason why foreigners would stay in Amecameca is for the Paso de Cortes and the Iztaccihuatl and Popocatepetl volcanoes. I chose the Hotel San Carlos because I've read it was a cheap place to stay and I believe it was the only hotel in the town centre. I don't think the staff speaks English but if you...
