We stayed at the Olway inn when attending a wedding in Wales. We arrived late on our first nights stay at the Olway Inn, but we were greeted by friendly staff. There were lots of people in the bar and there was a great atmosphere. When we arrived in our room it was very cosy and a little on the...

Our second visit. Firstly accommodation - we had the same room (No. 4) as last year but we had forgotten how small the bed is! Only 4'6" I think which is quite narrow these days and plenty of room to have a bigger bed in that room. We were told last year it's their best room so we used it...

As someone who routinely travels between Yorkshire and South Wales, I've plenty of experience of staying in hotels in South Wales. On this occasion, I realised that it made sense to find somewhere to stay en route, and Usk seemed very convenient. The Olway Inn was a perfect choice. It's brilliantly located just off the A449 (the main Monmouth to...

This won't take long! We are frequently disappointed with Sunday lunches these days. We've eaten at the Olway several times in recent years and have always been impressed (Their pies are special). A Sunday lunch is relatively easy to measure: is it good. Is it enough. Is it reasonably priced. The Olway has it down to a fine art on...

We returned to Usk to visit friends at the end of May and stayed at the Olway for two nights. Our room was immaculate and well decorated. The breakfast was fantastic and enough to set you up for the day, though we could not resist Nicolas home made pie for dinner on the Saturday and Sunday roast before setting off...

Lovely food, welcoming staff, great atmosphere in the bar, we regularly travel 15 to get there. The mackeral starter I had last week was outstanding. I wish I lived in Usk, I would spend more time there.

Treasures are often hidden and have to be searched for, Don't expect to find anything commercialised or over sophisticated about this countryside Inn / B&B What you see is what you get - stone flagstones and rustic charm. Rooms are available, but I cannot comment on those, because I did not see them. The lunch menu was tempting, and the...
