Good food, great staff and welcoming and comfortable bar area and restaurant. Sunday lunch is very good indeed, well prepared and presented. Starters are varied and delicious, (not the run of the mill you would normally expect!), the Sunday roast clearly shows great home cooking. Homemade bread, biscuits, cakes and desserts are also a must.

Stayed here for a couple of nights and hosted a mid-week, lunchtime event. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Comfy, clean, large rooms and good food. Despite being on a busy junction, the rooms were quiet with a lovely view of Usk Castle.

Rang to enquire about Sunday lunch as don't eat red meat.... there was no chicken on the menu but the gentleman on the phone was very accommodating and asked the chef if he would cook us chicken; which he did. The Sunday lunch was AMAZING, best I've had.... service was excellent, dining room beautiful with real log fire. Will definitely...

Stayed for 1 night en route from Gower, Swansea to March, Cambs. Busy night in hotel and town, so felt lucky to be able to obtain a room for the night. Unfortunately the kitchen had closed when we arrived, but bar snacks were available, which were very good. Parking fairly secure, need a code to exit and cameras used, but...

£80 For an annex room that is poorly furnished and either too hot or too cold as the electric wall hester is from the archive. On top of that one has to contend with a drumming noise that kicks in just after midnight and then again at around 6 in the morning. OK I will forget my woes and watch...

We had heard a lot about this hotel/restaurant in the past and often passed it promising to call there. We finally did and called in for a bar dinner but we were disappointed. The decor is clean but compared with other establishments it is of a poor standard, and the area we were in had no character at all. On...

I enjoy the atmosphere of the bar area, spacious, nice and bright etc. However staff are too often very young and inexperienced without adequate training. On recent visit a very pleasant young waiter managed to get almost everything a little wrong. Forget my wife's tea, very slow bringing my drink, when tea eventually arrived he brought enough for both of...

Stayed here because we were attending an evening reception at their sister hotel. The welcome we received on check-in was friendly & helpful. We had a room in the main hotel (right at the top - mind your head!!!!). The room was comfortable, warm & clean & had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again.

Having stayed here several times I have always found the rooms to be comfortable although if you get a room that faces the road then it can be noisy from the early hours of the morning. Food is ok and typical pub food. Breakfast can be slow, had to wait over 30 mins for my order last time. Big negative...

Main bar and meal area very clean and comfortable. The dinner meal we had was excellent. Our room was not in the main hotel. They have rooms over the road in another building. We had Room 25 which was comfortable but the bathroom was freezing cold and built up a wet layer of moisture over the walls and floors due...
