we enjoyed the time there - excellent restaurant and good wine - > breakfast is top. you can bring a whole family - rooms are very authentic. There are also 4 bikes - including two e bikes. We stayed a few days. It is a good place to stay away from the crowded beaches. You will find plenty of hiking...

I don't know where to start...this place is special in so many ways. The setting amidst the picturesque Madonie national park is breathtaking. You're off the beaten track and totally immersed in the surrounding nature and wildlife and yet you are only a short drive away from the pretty town of Castelbuono. Visiting other nearby beauties like Cefalù, Pollina and...

We stayed three nights on half board. We arrived on sunday afternoon after they had had a busy weekend and still had a coach party at lunch, and the car park was full. At first we were shown to an annex to the hotel, one of four cabins on the adjoining farm, as there were no rooms cleaned. This was...

Alps of Sicily. Beautiful stone made farmhouse with a gentle thin air. The Masseria was a great day out for my family. The kids loved to wonder around the massive Masseria and discovery all sort of animals and plants. Plus the playground, pool and pathways to jump around. We had a great lunch with fresh goat cheese of the day with a...

In October we enjoyed being the only guests. Came to the agriturismo on foot and left also on foot spending one day there relaxing. With this mode of transportation it felt as being in the middle of nowhere: tranquility, nature, good Italian food, friendly people, not much English. Unfortunately, we discovered that sauna, massage and inside pool are available in...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Masseria Rocca di Gonato is a magic place located among the woods overlooking the town of Castelbuono ( PA) - close to Cefalu. It is a Rural Tourism realized in a XIIth Century property by a project of the engineer Mr Filippo Botta and his partners Mr. Giuseppe Martorana and Mr. Pietro Faila. They renovated the property located in the Regional Park of Madonie, a few kilometres distance from the town of Castelbuono and close to the small towns of Cefalu, Le Petralie and Piano Battaglia. Formerly it was a 1200's convent built by the Basilian monks, followers of Saint Basil the Great. The monks moved to Gonato and built the convent. They dedicated themselves to the growing of vegetables, to the recovery of the woody area and to the realization of a cooper and bronze foundry. Nowadays, it is a tourist accommodation with 15 spacious rooms, some meeting rooms, a dining room where you can taste the Chef specialities and the typical products of the Madonie region such as meat, cheese, vegetables, wine etc.. Moreover there is a pampering SPA where guests can spend some wonderful moments of relax by revitalizing the mind and the body with some emotional rituals and massages. Some colourful moments, some typical and proper flavour, and overall the beauties of this area will be revealed through the food delight. ... more   less
