if you are interested in the landing beaches, Le Canada could not be better. Named in honour of the Allies, this is a minutes walk away from important WW2landmarks.... sunk ships are not far out there... there are ceremonial trips by the local Lifeboat to honour the lost sailors, and inland there is the beautiful Hermanville War Cemetery, a haven... This is a small hotel with small quaint rooms. The rooms are in two different buildings. I stayed in the rooms across from the main building. The rooms are clean and brightly lit. There is no A/C, but being close to the sea I didn't miss it. Breakfast is quite simple, a small baguette and croissant are the main fair.... More

We used this as it was cheap and near the Channel ferry. Our first night we were in a ground floor room which had a mouldy smelling bathroom. On our return from a UK trip we were put in a second floor room which was small and more expensive than our first night. It was a bit strange to be... More

After Brittany ferries delayed us by a night with industrial action, the tourist board within the ferry terminal booked us into this (sorry, can't call it an hotel, it was less than a hostel) We were in a camper van but the ferry was compensating us for the delay by paying for a hotel, so we asked that there was... Like the title says, let down. I will start with the good points, close to Normandy beaches, that's it. On entering our room there was an unpleasant odour as if the room had never had the windows open, musty. The toilet was narrow and gave the impression you had to reverse in so as to make your exit easier. Although... More

This hotel was misrepresented. The price listed did not include 'tax' and, without being advised, we were charged €5 for two cups of tea on our arrival. It is very poor value for money compared with others in the area, is poorly located for restaurants but is close to the beach. The bed was not good, but the bathroom was... More

Our experience was terrible and I paid a significant amount of money to get a ferry back to the UK that evening rather than endure a stay in a room within their 'overspil' site that was tatty, damp, cold and enclosed with windows that had mould growing all over the sealant. The images on their website are almost all from... More

Dirty smelly staircase to rooms - small, 4 ft beds, tiny shower. Married friends had to ask for extra bed in room. Man at desk offered no information re breakfast but decided to go elsewhere as such a depressing place. Also offered no help with suitcase up stairs. Sadly this was the nearest available to the ferry and nowhere to... More

Booked as close to the ferry. Questionable sheets and slightly dodgy odour to room. Felt like a poor b&b. I got an earlier ferry rather than a divorce - it was that bad! Man at the desk was nice but I am not staying in a '70s room for €130. Nothing locally - needed to drive for dinner. Eurocamp sorted... More
