Passing through Hedley countless times at highway speeds over the years, we had been intrigued by the stately Colonial Inn perched on its hill overlooking the roadway. This time, we decided to slow down and explore; we stayed for one night at Hedley's Colonial Inn in late July ($108). The Colonial Inn began life in the last century as a...

We have passed this lovely place many times and always wondered what it was like. On our last trip to the Okanagan, we stopped here on the way home and we were pleasantly surprised. It is a lovely home and the hosts were very helpful and charming. They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome....

After being on the road all day and unable to find a room in osoyoos, we pulled into the colonial inn. Very friendly host met us and showed us to our reasonably priced room. The room is dated but I think that's part of the experience. The mattress needs to be replaced but it wasn't horrible. It was a ghostly...

A group of us stayed here for a night before going into Cathedral Lakes Provincial Park the next day. It was a charming stay. The house used to be the guest house for the mining company back some 60 or 70 years ago and at that time I am sure it was very elegant - beautifully polished floors, exquisite light...

On a recent trip to visit an ailing brother in law on a thirty acre ranch along the colorful Similkameen river near the old mining town of Hedley, British Columbia, we had occasion to spend a few days at the charming, rustic Colonial Inn. It is an impressive period house with its highly polished floors, exotic period furniture and fixtures,...

My daughter and I were running out of options on Highway 3, late in the day, on this long weekend. Luckily we got a large room with a queen and a single bed. There was a shared bathroom off our room. The building was quite impressive with its wooden floors, large staircase up to a landing and a large dining...

we stayed in hedley on our way to the okanagan for a wine tour, thinking it a nice midway point that would allow us to dawdle through the hope district and manning park, while still ending up pretty close to the wineries. we had seen the colonial inn several times when driving through hedley, and had often thought it would...

Stayed one night en route to Vancouver in the beautiful period house set in lovely, peaceful grounds in Hedley, BC (an old gold mining town). The owner, Nola, does her best to make you feel welcome and can tell you all about the history of Hedley. Rooms great. Super breakfast. Only one place to dine in Hedley, The Hitching Post,...

What an uncut gem is the British Columbia town of Hedley. With long disused gold mines and quirky shops to explore it is well worth a visit. Also worth a visit is the Colonial Inn located on the outskirts of town. Originally a guesthouse of the mining company the Colonial Inn has been tastefully converted to a very comfortable B&B....

A stylish small B&B just outside Hedley. The fine old house has been sympathetically furnished and imparts a certain elegance. This is a cut above most B&Bs and in an area with few accommodation opportunities it is not to be missed. The only caveat concerns the location of the bedrooms on the first floor and there is no lift or...
