Lovely spot - you can walk down a fairly steep path to the small harbour, with plenty of bird life, or look out to snow - covered Snaefelnes mountain. A coastal path can take you to bird cliffs at Arnarstapi - allow 1 hour each way, and terrain is uneven. All staff very helpful, and speak good English! Rooms well...

great view from the hotel itself. great location as a base to explore Snaefellsjoekull National Park, and very close (driving distance in minutes) to Gatklettur and Londrangar. loved the restaurant's food. should have stayed more than one night!

Firstly, this is a rather standard Icelandic hotel. Clean and comfortable but minus many of the features one would find elsewhere. The room was sparsely furnished with 2 single beds, no cupboards or tea and coffee making facilities. The view was of the carpark, but others had ocean views. The bathroom equally spartan, but clean. The restaurant food was acceptable,...

We were fortunate to stay a few days. We had an ocean view room in the main hotel building. Our room was spacious with the advertised view. We enjoyed two dinners in the restaurant. The cod was so good that my husband ordered it both nights. I enjoyed the seafood soup with coconut creme and a chicken entree the first...

Situated in Snaefellsbaer on the remote central western peninsular of Iceland, this is a lovely small hotel. The hotel is new and the rooms are modern but fairly basic, with some rooms looking directly out on to the carpark. The room had no wardrobe, the pillows were very thin, there were no tea and coffee making facilities and the sink...

The hotel is set on the peninsula quite a long way from everything. On arrival the hotel initially checked us into a twin room, but when we advised them we had booked a double this was quickly rectified without any trouble. Room was spacious but basic in usual Iceland style, but it was very comfortable and clean. We had dinner...

Great location at the edge of the Snaefellsnes national park. A short stroll away from some amazing cliffs. Restaurant food was excellent. Breakfast had a variety to choose from with some great fresh bread. We stayed for one night in a twin room with a view, which was very comfortable, modern and quiet. Very relaxing. I liked it also because...

We stayed here one night while exploring the area and it was wonderful. Simple rooms, no phone, but sufficient, roomy and clean. Great restaurant and hiking nearby. It is a good base if exploring the outer or southern Snaefesnelles.

Pros: Great breakfast buffet; heated bathroom floor; walking distance to Hellnar attractions, free wifi, spacious double room & bathroom; hairdryer provided Cons: Gravel parking lot - could hear people parking/leaving when we went to bed but didn't continue to be bothersome; check-in was at 4pm and we didn't know Our trip was booked through Nordic Visitor (review separate). Stayed here for one night on our latest trip to Iceland. The room was fine, clean and had everything you needed although not sure it was worth the price (it was the most expensive place we stayed and probably our least favourite). Food was disappointing and very expensive... When ordering a fish dish which comes with potatoes and vegetables I...
