I stayed at Bougain Villa over December 2015. The rooms offer the bare necessities. Quite enjoyable - Until I got robbed of all my personal valuables from a locked garden suite to which the management had the only extra keys, returned from work at 5pm to find my suite open.. Total loss to the value of $7500 of which the...

I was really impressed by this little guesthouse. It has 13 rooms that are cosy and well maintained. Each having their own DSTV and air conditioning. Only 20 min away from the airport on good tarred roads, it is centrally situated with easy access to town. The guesthouse is family owned and managed. When driving through the gate one can...

Despite its name Bougan Villa bills itself as a South African guesthouse and it is an island of English in a sea of French. Apparently the South African expat community often gathers here when there is a big rugby game on - especially on weekends. I only went to for dinner and few drinks in the South African themed sports...

I arrived to a reception of noisy football fans (I bet South Africans). Internet is great but had challenges connecting initially. Wake-up calls by birds is a wonderful bonus. Unfortunately, the study table is away from light and just under the TV. It is surprising that there are no mosquitoes despite the greenery.

I was in DRC for work recently and a colleague recommended Bougain Villa over the "big" hotel that houses most development workers in the area. I am so happy I chose to stay there. Caitlin and crew were so welcoming and friendly. Everyone learned my name right away and were always lovely to talk to. The rooms are each slightly...

We stayed here for our one night in Lubumbashi. Although I can't speak for my colleague, I for one found the room to be lovely. There wasn't too much to it just the necessities. The restaurant has a nice selection if you are not trying to be adventurous. The staff is friendly from reception to waitors as well as very...

This is island of English speaking community, you hear English in 90% of cases and you even can’t find French TV channels. What I like: Staff are lovely and professional, lovely garden and restaurant. Big bed and quiet room. Good TV channels. Mixed impression from food, First dinner, hamburger was tasty, Second dinner Cesar salad was without chicken and eggs....
