First thing is first the staff are Brilliant, very friendly, very helpful and its they've given this place any extra star from me. The hotel part comes a clear second best to a very busy fitness club. The rooms are basic but clean. The noise from the fitness club ends around 8pm and starts around 6.30am. Very clear to me... Room was clean but badly needed some renovation. The bedding had seen better days and pillows needed replacing. The bathroom was old fashioned even carpet up side of bath panel. You could here traffic doing their deliveries early in morning. The cooked breakfast was spare a child size portion.

As I've said be aware,,myself and the wife went there on a Saturday knowing it had 2 nightclubs which were still going to be open at 2am..we were right but that's why we went we wanted a decent night out an it's easy just to walk upstairs to your room.it cost us £65 for the night with a good breakfast... Average friendly hotel. Stayed there after seeing a show at the grand pavilion. Reasonable nights sleep apart from the fitness class waking the whole hotel up at 6am with the thumping music and instructor shouting instructions grrr!! Avoid unless your there for the fitness classes.

The wife and I saught sanctuary here from a windy bay today. I enjoyed my curry. Mrs h had the chops which were not big and she was hungry afterwards. Local drunk in was mildly entertaining and annoying at the same time. Lovely staff and good WiFi. Drafty in booths.

Just popped in for lunch did not stay at this hotel. Good food reasonably priced with good size portions. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only slight problem was that there was a gym directly above the bar and the noise from the running machines was a bit off putting.

Don't go there if you want a nights sleep as the nightclub vibration keeps you awake until gone 2.30 (something that was not pointed out when we booked our room) and the fire alarm kept on going off willy nilly (Try going back to sleep after all that) then try and have a shower in the morning and the temperature... Visited the Porthcawl Hotel during this year's Elvis Festival. The food was absolutely amazing. The portions were huge and I honestly couldn't eat all that was on my plate. I had the pulled pork burritos. They were to die for! Will definitely return for more.

This served a purpose. We were looking for accommodation after a long day and had searched for hours. This was our last option. The place is cheap. We had a room at the top of the hotel. It was clean but seriously needs redecorating. Carpet in the bathroom as well. But it was quite, once the very enthusiastic fitness instructor... More
