New Lanark World Heritage Site is a truly unique setting. Surrounded by native woodlands and close to the famous Falls of Clyde, New Lanark was founded in 1785 as a cotton spinning village and became famous as the site of Robert Owen's pioneering social reforms. Now beautifully restored, New Lanark is both a living community and tourist attraction. the 4 Star New Lanark Mill Hotel is a stunning award winning conversion from an original 18th century mill. It offers fantastic views across the surrounding conservation area and River Clyde

The New Lanark Mill Hotel captivates many guests with its unique atmosphere, marked by live entertainment and festive events, though some have felt that noise can detract from its charm. While opinions on value diverge, the comfortable rooms with scenic views, and the relaxing spa facilities often receive high praise. We stayed here in December as a treat for my mums birthday. Mum uses a mobility scooter and they stayed in a disabled room which was excellent for them, lots of space and easy access. Our rooms were lovely too, overlooking the river, with all you would expect, tea/coffee facilities, hairdryer, sea kelp toiletries 😍 We had a late lunch which staff obligingly accommodated for us which was delicious and dinner was a real treat with staff happy to cater to our varied dietary requirements (mainly gf) The spa area was under renovation but was still very pleasant, my sister-in-law and I enjoyed the pool! The visitor centre was very busy but we enjoyed the tour and mum managed with her scooter no problem! I have to also add that ALL the staff were very friendly accommodating and eager to help, they are a real credit to the hotel!!!

We had booked a special offer at the Mill Hotel of dinner bed and breakfast, we were all impressed with the hotels actions to ensure our safety at these difficult times.

All areas of the hotel are of a high standards, we really enjoyed going to sleep with the sound of the river.
We were very impressed with the choice and quantity of our meals, especially as this was a very competitive offer.

My partner and I went here in July on a re-arranged 5PM deal when the hotel opened again after lockdown. All protections were in place and adhered to by staff. Our deal stated that glasses of prosecco, strawberries and dipping chocolate would be in the room on arrival but they were not. We went for a walk and reception said these would be in the room on our return. Three hours later they arrived 15 minutes before we were due to dine. I immediately complained to reception and we was somewhat placated by our waiter Richard who was charm personified and worked wonders to please us. The prosecco etc., was not the issue, just that our first impression of management was tainted. On a positive note, the room and view were lovely. The room spotless and no defects. The common areas well kept and our breakfast was very tasty with quality ingredients.

We visited this hotel to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary and were left very disappointed. The main reason we chose here was the location and the leisure facilities. The location did not disappoint but unfortunately we couldn't use the leisure facilities which left a sour taste. The exterior of the hotel although lovely and historical could do with a good clean. The windows etc are filthy which isn't great.
Our arrival and check in was efficient but there was absolutely no warm welcome. We were allocated room 33 which I thought was a nice touch as we were celebrating 33 years of marriage (hope that wasn't just a coincidence) The hotel overall is a bit clinical and feels more like a care home or hospital. We really didn't feel we were in a building of huge historical significance. The room though was clean and well presented and the bed was fantastic, had a great night's sleep. We had everything we could need: hairdryer, iron and ironing board, tea tray, plenty of storage and hangers, bathrobes etc. Shower was also pretty good and plenty of fluffy towels.
We had a few drinks in the bar before we went for a walk around the grounds and were very disappointed to be told no cocktails even though cocktails were advertised on their menu online.
The bar was ok and functional but not a place you'd want to spend any real time in. The walk however was excellent and the grounds and Falls of Clyde magnificent.
We had organised to have dinner at the hotel and this is where they excelled. Staff were very friendly, polite and professional. Menu was varied and reasonably priced and food was very, very good. Breakfast was also excellent. Again staff were brilliant and food very good. Also want to say that any of the housekeeping staff we met throughout the hotel all said hello and asked how we were. Always appreciate friendly staff.
Wi-fi was free and was really good.
All in all we had an okay stay but I wouldn't be rushing back. If we had managed to use the leisure facilities this might have been a different review but we didn't and were left disappointed.

Stayed 2 nights DBB as a family in a Double Deluxe (2 x Double beds). Firstly, in these strange Covid times, the hotel felt safe and well thought out. Lifts were designated up or down and some one-way directions were in place. Sanitiser is at various key points throughout the hotel and masks worn by staff (and residents when required). Slots selected for breakfast to limit numbers at once, and everything served to the table rather than buffet style. Cooked breakfasts were lovely. Food at dinner was superb - steak and haggis pie and fish and chips in particular - and good options for kids. It's not an extensive menu but perfectly cooked and using great ingredients.

We visited and stayed as a couple, we started our visit with Afternoon Tea, which was excellent. Great quality and service. It was in the Hotel bar, which is well set out, welcoming and friendly. We were looked after by Kyle, who was second to none, when it came to looking after you. He never stopped, yet, he was always there when you needed him and he checked on you, just seconds before you were just about to look for him, it was as if he could read your mind. We went out for an hour or so and on our return went to the bar for some drinks. Again, looked after by Kyle, who was very knowledgeable about the drinks selection, hotel services and was friendly and approachable, without being in your space, a real talent, which not all front of house staff in my experience have.

Our room, we were in the New Harmony Suite, which was very clean and had everything you would ever want and/or need. The room is a credit to the hotel and the Housekeeping Staff. Walking around the hotel we interacted with many staff members, including Housekeeping, who were all friendly and helpful.

We had Dinner, Bed & Breakfast. We found the quality of food and service to be excellent. Nothing was too much trouble, the service was timely and to a very high standard. Sorry, to mention him again, but one of the Restaurant staff at night was Kyle, although we were looked after by others most of the night, we did have interactions with him again and although the service received from the others was very good, his attention to detail was just that bit higher.

We were both that impressed by our full stay we have already arranged to come back and we have started to look at them to host our son's wedding.

After a 5 hour drive to get there we were looking forward to a nice romantic night at the venue with a bit of food and drinks.

What we got was being told that the dining room was full, and although we explained that we had emailed late Friday night to reserve a table were told that thee dining room was fully booked. We suggested maybe eating in the bar or even room service, but were told that literally the kitchen could not entertain a simple burger and chips for two hungry, tired travellers. I have stayed in 100's of hotels in my life and never been faced with anything so ridiculous.

We were on a B&B tariff and asked when we would like breakfast, so being on a holiday asked for 9am. We were told only 8:15am and 9:45am were available. I am trying to think very hard when I was ever asked to "book a breakfast". We opted for the earlier time, and the breakfast was dreadful - made up of the cheapest ingredients the hotel owners could muster.

We went out for dinner locally in the end and thought about a drink in the bar, but strangely they have managed to make it look like a working man's club with zero atmosphere or appeal.

On a positive note, the location is stunning, the rooms pretty good, the waitress at breakfast friendly and the pool and sauna up to scratch.

We concluded that this was a great location ruined by poor service, lack of customer focus and cost cutting

Hotel is in a magnificent area, walks along the Clyde are wonderful. Check in would have been fine apart from a large wedding party filling the reception (without masks). Room and hotel all in good state, it was winter when we visited so needed to turn up the heating on stat, staff must set at 17 degrees (cold). Breakfast was a little confusing as to whether cooked breakfast was available on first morning, after we filled with cereal and croissants, we discovered we could order hot food, decided on bacon roll (it came very plain and uninventive, glad we were B&B). Evening meal was very tasty and good selection also good service. decided on few drinks in bar after day out, young girl was very good and friendly, however she also had to supply room service, so was more often than not, away from the bar delivering drinks elsewhere (really should be another persons job). I would request a room on top floor as the night of the wedding in the hotel the music was very loud in our room (2) just above the unction room. Overall its a really good hotel in spectacular location and great value.

I took my sister in law and son to the New Lanark Mill hotel for an overnight trip. We arrived and were told they had not realised there were 3 of us and we would have to wait 15 minutes while they made up a sofa bed. There was no problem, Heidi the receptionist was extremely helpful.
There were only 4 people allowed in the swimming pool, that we had to book due to Covid-19 restrictions. The changing rooms were not as clean as I had imagined as nobody cleaned the areas after the people before us. We went in and there were 2 others getting changed yet when we came out from the pool the lady from the leisure club said there were people waiting to come in and they were not allowed to while we were there, yet nobody told us to wait for the ones prior to us. Tell tale signs of new clothing tags were lying in the changing area that I used and the lock on the door was broken and hanging off.
Our room was on the 6th floor and it was very warm. Luckily we found a fan as the secondary glazing only opened in one of the two windows.
We ordered breakfast to the room and my sister in law made a mistake when ordering by only ticking one item at one guest instead of three items for each guest resulting in a tiny breakfast for each of us with nothing we really wanted. Not the hotel’s fault, as the breakfast that we had was tasty and on time. The area surrounding the hotel is absolutely amazing to walk and the heritage museum right next door is interesting enough for everyone. The hotel issues you with a 15% discount on entry price and to use in the cafe.
The entrance to the hotel and sitting area is extremely modern. The bathroom in the room was also very modern and clean. The only thing I would say is we sat in the bar to order food after 4pm and were told that the food had stopped for the day but the cafe was opened in the heritage centre, although we could eat in the restaurant later for dinner if we book. I was glad to be honest as all I could smell was “wet dog” at the table we sat at. We left and went into neighbouring Lanark for food.

Only stayed for one night, found a number off issues with the room which were reported to the reception staff. Breakfast service was very slow. Housekeeping standards need to be improved. Head housekeeper needs to be carrying out physical inspections of rooms that have just been cleaned to ensure that the overall standards are greatly improved. Repair personnel need to be visiting all the rooms to check on telephones, dealing with choked sink drains, fixtures and fittings to ensure that everything is working properly to avoid customer complaints to the reception personnel.
