Happened upon this pub by chance. En route to the Lakes it became apparent that we were not going to make it in time for last orders at our local so we found somewhere just off the M6 to have dinner. The Bay Horse really is a gem. A few minutes only off the motorway the food is excellent and...

Food was very nice, however the meal was spoilt by the fact that we were pressured to leave due to other people arriving. We had booked a table, spent a lot of money and had just finished our food. Had been there for less than an hour and a half. We did stay longer and ordered coffee because we were...

We have been dining at The Bay Horse for years and it never fails to be a wonderful experience. From family celebrations to a quiet meal for two the atmosphere is always warm and inviting. Locally sourced produce served with precision and passion to the highest standards. A real taste of Lancashire.

Me and my fiance came for Sunday tea. our soups were cold I ate mine rather than complain but she could not have hers because it was too cold, no apology from the chef or management, came to pay the bill ok it was deducted but never explained until I questioned it, and then I was asked whether I wanted...

There can only be one place to go on a Sunday in or around Lancaster and this place is it. Unrivalled medium-rare beef (served a little pink unless you ask for it not to be, but why would you?), homemade Yorkshire pudding, crisp roast potatoes, medium-thick consistency gravy and al dente vegetables. The dessert selection is to die for, all...

Had a pleasant evening meal. Restaurant was nicely busy but not overcrowded. Service was very good, nice selection of real ale and wine. Vegetarian choice was limited but adequate and nicely presented. My duck was well cooked and a reasonably sized portion. Overall the meal was good, if a little pricey, and would go back.

We arrived just in time to order on a Sunday, as they stop at 3pm. The staff were very attentive and friendly and the pub had an comfy and intimate feel. We went for a two course set Sunday meal (you could have either two or three courses.) Our starters came very promptly and we're delicious. Just the right size...

We stayed for one night in August as couldnt afford a longer break. There was an excellent deal on which included an evening meal. The food was excellent, freshly cooked and home made. I had the steak pie which I reccommend. There was a good choice of drinks as it is a pub. Our room was great, clean, comfortable etc....

Set in a beautiful old stone building. Beams and fireplaces. Excellent staff. Excellent food. I go here at least once a month and they have never let me down. The food is always spectacular. One touch I like is that the menu has locally sourced ingredients. One room is cosy and what I would call oldie worldie and then there...

We had Father's Day Sunday lunch here. For me, the menu and quality of the food was a level about what you would expect but the service was a disappoinment. It started off okay with a greeting but it was very slow from then on. It seemed an age before our drinks order was taken, then the rest followed in...
