A lovely mansion in the middle of the Aubrac area, a kind of high Mesa 1000 meters high. Our room was under the roof and rather small but with all the comfort. It seems they have larger ones. The hotel is managed by the same person who runs the "petite Maison" restaurant next door where one can taste rather creative...

Built in the early 1800's after the Napoleonic wars by the owner's ancestor, we were immediately made comfortable with some pink champagne and a regional 'rose' biscuit speciality. The rose theme took inspiration from the natural rose granite used to create the splendour of Relain Saint-Roch. Set among pines gently shading this fine example of early 19thC architecture. There are...

If you're driving, even sedately, through the small French town of Saint Alban sur Limagnole, your chances are excellent to miss its architectural jewel, the 19th century, rose granite sheathed Chateau de la Chastre, hidden amidst the stucco, concrete and asphalt sprawl of modern buildings. Situated in its own private park, the Chateau, which was lovingly restored over a thirty-year...

Christian the owner provides a very warm welcome to all guests of this lovely old world hotel. Rooms and bathrooms are clean with all amenities. Dinner was served in a restaurant called La Petite Maison, owned and operated by the ownwers of the Relais. Its was excellent and very generous. Breakfast was absolutely perfect.

We stayed overnight on our journey south and were very satisfied with our stay. The charming owner welcomed us with a glass of champagne (on the house) which was a pleasing start. Our 2nd floor room was of a very decent size and overlooked the garden. The decor was certainly of yesteryear but had a certain charm. Beds were comfortable...

What a shame that all the owner seems to care about is making money. We phoned to book on our way from Caen-tired and hungry!- and asked what time the restaurants in the village stopped serving lunch-we were told 13:30( this turned out to be a compleye lie) and that, just for us, they would keep the hotel restaurant open...

We stayed here whilst doing some of the GR65. We arrived after a day spent walking in the snow (yes! in June!) and received a wonderful welcome. The rooms were warm and clean. The bathrooms were sparkling. The restaurant dinner was enormous and the service is old-fashioned and impeccable. This is a surprising place with pretensions but it was perfect...

We were in a small room, Jonquilles, for a very high price. Besides, if your neighbours move a bit, you hear everything. Bathroom is poorly organised. Do not take heavy bagage with you, you'd need taking them with you two floors through steep stairs! Restaurant is attractive and original, with their speciality in bison, but again expensive. Above average wine...
