We chose the Aux Armes de Champagne because of its ideal location close to the A4 motorway east of Rheims and exactly halfway on our journey from England to Switzerland. Our room was charming, the house champagne delightful and dinner in the restaurant was exceptional but also expensive. Unfortunately our French is not very good and there was some reluctance...

Stayed here for one night recently and enjoyed the small but well appointed room. Dinner was a mixed bag. We had the chef's menu and for the most part the food was great. The wild pigeon however was nearly crisp. It could well have been a problem in translation (my wife and I speak very limited French), but the waiter...

Easy to find from the motorway, friendly staff beautiful gardens and setting. Comfortable 'French style' room. Free parking in the grounds. Pleasant lounges and public rooms. Excellent breakfast and the evening dinner was one of the best we have ever eaten in France. We were on a 3 week holiday in Europe and a few days before reception emailed me...

We have been coming to this hotel for several years and have always found it charming. Everything from the staff to the cuisine to the bedroom, parking, garden have always been marvellous. Air-conditioning would make it perfect but we have always managed by opening the windows and changing the net curtains. To the previous reviewer I would say if you...

I had known of this hotel for many years and had longed to stay there but having two children whose criteria for a super hotel included a swimming pool we had never been. This time we visited France, our children had flown the nest so we could indulge our own preferences. We had chosen a special gourmet package that included...

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights while visiting France. The hotel is quaint and is located in a very small town. We arrived at the front desk and 2pm and were greeted by an unfriendly, rude woman who did not speak English and just held up a sign stating "4pm check in". The hotel did not look...

Read the mixed reviews of this hotel, after we stayed there we can now understand why. Hotel is in a nice location, rooms are ok, garden is nice. Across the road is a wonderful gothic Church. When we arrived check in was efficient and polite. It was a lovely hot day and was severed drinks in the garden immediately. However...

My father and I recently travelled across Europe on a business trip, passing through 5 countries in 3 days. It was an exhausting trip full of motorways and budget hotels. However on our last evening of travelling we sought out Aux Armes de Champagne in L'Epine, a place my father hadn't visited for 10 years. Even though we arrived late...

Situated at a road junction on the old main road. This hotel has now been by-passed by the new motorway. Unfortunately it has left it very tired. The service was very poor as was the food. Only one member of staff could speak English so ordering food and drinks for our group was difficult. The gardens were tidy and well...

This was our fourth visit to this hotel and restaurant. Our room nb 2 was confortable but not large and unfortunately above the laundry room. So, in the morning, we could hear the humming of the laundry washing machines. It is probably best to request a room in the newer building that has a view of the nice garden and...

At first glance this hotel appears as a typical French roadside restaurant with natural-wood shutters and flowerboxes overflowing with a profusion of red, pink, and white geraniums.
