i would rate swiss cottage tioman highly for the balance between the price and the accomodation. The room is practical, you would have everything you need, comfortably, plus storage compartment areas to keep your room neat and clean.
Its a garden in front of the beach, so it is still cool under the sun heat. A lot of trees. Beach front is amazing, facing sunset, and the water is clear, with fish and corals.
At the receiption area, food is delicious, wifi is very fast, access to filtered cold/hot water is easy 24x7, a lot of books and board game.
9 pm is the start of the quite hour until the sun rise again, ensure you have enough rest to start then next day very productive exploring what the island offers

Went for a dive weekend with Tioman Dive Centre and stayed with the attached Swiss Cottage.

They were so helpful in booking our accomodation and providing me with lots of information on how to get there, times, ferries, shops, restaurants etc.

Transport was organised to and from the jetty which just made everything easier.

The beachfront is quiet and clean, and there's a few places to lounge around.
The meals were delicious and so were the banana shakes!

It was exactly what we needed after a few months in lockdown.

The rooms are clean and spacious, cold air-cons and hot water with a lovely porch to have a few drinks. The beds were very comfortable.

Would definitely stay there again!

As the family is wanting to enroll in scuba and freediving courses, we decided that this would be an ideal place. The Tioman Dive Center and the Freedive Tioman is located within its compound. The chalets were clean and comfortable with everything inside in working order. The complimentary breakfast and other meals were prepared from the heart. The management does not do dinner except for special occasions e.g. peri2 chicken barbecue we had on our first night. My chalet was beach facing and the sound of the waves is definitely soothing.
There was no room clean up throughout our stay, but we did not actually need one.
Tioman in general is an accessible place to unwind if you are southern Johor or Kuantan.
I would highly recommend Swiss Cottage for a short break relaxing getaway.

Third time since 2008 in this wonderful place. The rooms and bungalows are directly at the beautiful uncrowded beach. They are clean, designed with a lot of attention to detail and located in a nice garden. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The freediving school, ran by the owner, is located in same place. Heaven on earth, we will be definitely back for a fourth time soon!

I have stayed in Swiss Cottage few time's and this the only place that im going to stay forever. There will be no any other Chalet that will be this clean and well maintain. First thing, the location is right in front of the beach and you have groceries shop (Duty Free) in walking distance (200 meters). Apart of that, the host (Stella & Rich) are very friendly and they will do their level best to make your stay wonderful. We stayed here for my Birthday this year and had a blast with their arrangement and hospitality. As normal, we stayed in long house which can accomodate 3 adults for 4 nights. It was a great experience this time because it was my birthday and i was wondering how my wife is getting me a cake since there's no bakery shop in Tekek. It was a pleasant surprise from Stella & Rich for them to bake a Birthday cake full with choco. That was so sweet of them. This make the place to be outstanding and perfect. I will definitely introduce my friends or other's to stay here.

Good value for money at the Swiss Cottage. The place is simple but clean, right on the beach, close to town and a 20-minute walk from the Berjaya Resort. A simple but tasty breakfast is included in the price.

If you don't like cats, go elsewhere -- the place is full of them. Also, bring your own sheets as they provide only a simple blanket per bed.

They can arrange snorkeling trips and other excursions and a supposedly good diving center is right on premises.

All in all, a good place to stay in Tioman, if you're not looking for luxury and can handle a few small discomforts.

For food, we highly recommend the Tioman Cabana, a nice beach cafe just a little up from the Swiss cottage. Great food, friendly service and cheap prices. We went there almost every day and really enjoyed it!

Not much to say here , really. We came to stay over Chinese New Year....

Friendly staff, good bar system (self service, with tab), nice location, good cabins, hot water, wi-fi... and the staff were helpful in arranging trips. good value overall.

I would come here again.

My bf Kelly and I flew in via Berjaya airline (there's only one flight) from singapore to Tioman, Tekek. There was a bus to take us to the Swiss cottage for RM 5. (Kelly and i walked to airport to catch the plane back home, it's pretty amazing at 10 am with mountains ahead and clouds over their heads) I would suggest, if you dont mind a 10 mins walk under the sun, you can reach Swiss Cottage pretty easily by walking. Just head out from the airport and turn left, walk straight all the way until you pass by some shophouses, 2 wooden bridges. The Swiss Cottage is on your right side of the road just before the road becomes steep and uphill. Look out for the pretty cool wooden sign overhead. We stay in the terrace air con. It comes complete with wooden floor, working heated water shower (which was very nice!), a double bed and a mosquito net. Do use the net as the mosquitoes can come in and give you nasty bites especially at dusk. That's the only part that i dint like about the place. But The rest is fantastic!

Richard and Stella are very friendly people. We were very happy to be staying with them. Richard was always ready to help us with our questions. And if you like reading, there's some interesting reads at the lobby complete with wifi. I read Robert E Feist 's Magican: Apprentice. Played some chess with Kelly sometimes in the lobby. It can be a tight squeeze in the washroom but we didn't mind as long as it comes with the working toilet and heated water shower. Sometimes the wifi didn't work for us in our room though. But most of the time, we spent our time diving with Tioman Dive Centre which was right beside Swiss Cottage. It was awesome. You will get to see lotsa beautiful underwater.

The unfortunate event that happened was that Kelly and I got bitten by sandflies. So be careful, dont venture to where there's high sea walls and fresh water-sea sides. We got the strongest DEET repellent on but still got bitten.According to the locals, sandflies are abundant during the monsoon season. Richard also mention no repellents work on the sandflies. Just go into the sea and enjoy yourself. Normally, Richard would keep antihistamine but he ran out of those as he gave some to the other people staying there.

I do enjoy the light and simple breakfasts with Swiss Cottage. It feels like they've put in effort and love in the food.

Go on and stay with them if you like a rustic seaside romantic beach stay!

All in all, It's a wonderful place to be in. I like the romantic countryside feel to it. Try out the nearby eatery owned by this dude with a tall high white chef hat. Try out their BBQs. We have had BBQ stingray for RM 25, small squids for RM 4/6 each (dont choose the big ones as they cost more and not so worthwhile)

PS: There are lotsa bats at 9 pm in Tioman, go out and see if you can see them. Those were awesome too!

I stayed in Swiss Cottage for 7 nights and I loved it. I stayed in a Longhouse room with a fan which comes with a mosquito net and all the rooms are only a few steps away from the beach. The owners Stella and Rich are very friendly and always willing to go the extra mile to help. The location is great, there's loads of shops and restaurants near by. There's great snorkeling just off the beach and they will help you arrange trips to go and see the other spots. I highly recommend this place to anyone and I hope to go back soon.
