i would rate swiss cottage tioman highly for the balance between the price and the accomodation. The room is practical, you would have everything you need, comfortably, plus storage compartment areas to keep your room neat and clean. Its a garden in front of the beach, so it is still cool under the sun heat. A lot of trees. Beach front is amazing, facing sunset, and the water is clear, with fish and corals. At the receiption area, food is delicious, wifi is very fast, access to filtered cold/hot water is easy 24x7, a lot of books and board game. 9 pm is the start of the quite hour until the sun rise again, ensure you have enough rest to start then next day very productive exploring what the island offers
Went for a dive weekend with Tioman Dive Centre and stayed with the attached Swiss Cottage. They were so helpful in booking our accomodation and providing me with lots of information on how to get there, times, ferries, shops, restaurants etc. Transport was organised to and from the jetty which just made everything easier. The beachfront is quiet and clean, and there's a few places to lounge around. The meals were delicious and so were the banana shakes! It was exactly what we needed after a few months in lockdown. The rooms are clean and spacious, cold air-cons and hot water with a lovely porch to have a few drinks. The beds were very comfortable. Would definitely stay there again!
As the family is wanting to enroll in scuba and freediving courses, we decided that this would be an ideal place. The Tioman Dive Center and the Freedive Tioman is located within its compound. The chalets were clean and comfortable with everything inside in working order. The complimentary breakfast and other meals were prepared from the heart. The management does not do dinner except for special occasions e.g. peri2 chicken barbecue we had on our first night. My chalet was beach facing and the sound of the waves is definitely soothing. There was no room clean up throughout our stay, but we did not actually need one. Tioman in general is an accessible place to unwind if you are southern Johor or Kuantan. I would highly recommend Swiss Cottage for a short break relaxing getaway. …
very happy to have spent 3 nights with you, the reception, the staff, very friendly. the chalet is very good, good bedding, bathroom very good. clean beach. beautiful garden around the accommodation. Très bon hôtel
The reception isn't open 24/7 but we noticed them about our late arrival, and someone was there to greet us. The view from the room is amazing. We sleep to the sound of the small waves. The dive center is right on the property, it was super convenient for us divers to just walk out of our room and get ready for dive trips.
My boyfriend and I recently went to Tioman Island for a few weeks on a diving trip. Great and affordable accommodation right at beach and close to the dive centre. Friendly staff always willing to help, breakfast was just perfect to have prior to diving and location is also great!
Our family of four spent five nights in April at this beautiful and friendly place, situated directly on the beach. Our kids aged 5 and 7 assessed Tioman their favourite part of our month in Asia. We rented one of the terrace rooms and had fantastic days snorkelling directly from the beach, walking to nearby restaurants, looking at the funny monkeys in the backyard and going on excursions to other parts of the island. The staff of mostly women are super friendly and for example advised us on transport from Singapore (to where we flew in from Sweden) via JB and on to Tioman. Highly appreciated when you are new to a region and travelling with children. I had some sand fly bites, but the rest of the family were just fine.
It’s part of the paradise. We stayed one cabins one water front on the beach for e and my wife, and another for our three children in July 2018. Very nice with wonderful memories. Our cabin was next to the Dive Center as we had our dive certificates. Very high recommended.
I was lucky I stay both in the sea view Bungalow and Chalet so here are the pros and cons. Bungalow BA2 Lots of room inside and on the deck. Bed roomy and comfortable. Lots of light coming into the room. Big tree in front provides shade but does block the ocean view slightly, stone throw from the water. Very quiet location. Downside no AC only fans a little warm at night yet I slept decent. Chalet A5 Enough room inside though bed was smaller and not as comfortable. Excellent view of the ocean stone throw from water. Very dark inside but has AC Cons Monkeys jumping on roof early in morning, dive shop next door partying the noise effected at least two other chalets. Not sure which one I will pick next time? There is a beautiful reef just off the beach spent a lot of time in the water. The people that run the Swiss Cottage are helpful but please read the booking details so your not surprised as it is a layer back basic place which is great. Breakfast is simple and on the smaller side.... I will finish on this note if you come to snorkel and dive and chill out and aren’t a high needs diva you won’t find a better place to stay in Tekek! …
We had a stay of 5 nights on Tioman Island to do our PADI Open Water course. As the dive center is located directly in the resort we decided to book there. It was a great experience since the chalet we had was directly in front of the sea. The reception is friendly, the room is clean and a mosquito net for around the bed is provided which is very useful. Furthermore, they serve breakfast and good lunch at the reception which is kinda a restaurant at the same time.
