It's not the first time we stay at Swiss cottage, still a lovely place to stay but they definitely should upgrade their bed frames which are a killer for toes, tripping as well as their mosquito nets which are too small for the beds. Asked if I would recommend it ? I think I would say it's time to shop around as I have not seen any improvements done over the years.... What will it look like in 10 years if it still stands.......

I didn't stay at the Swiss Cottage on Tioman Island (I was staying on a boat) but we had lunch at their little restaurant and the food was sooooo delicious. I highly recommend the chicken wrap and the fresh juices! Yummo.

Upside Our A1 room located next to TDC (Tioman Dive Center) were great as we did our dives (Tiger Reef & Labas) with them. Jenny (the friendly manager at reception) recommended which lotion (FOC at the counter) for us to apply to prevent sand fly bites which was most useful. Our A1 room command the best seaview & located right next to the beach (less than 15m away). We can just hop onto our dive boat from our room & back for a wash-up, which is most convenient! We stayed 2 night at The Barat & Resort hop to Swiss Cottage for a night just to go for our extra dives at our favarite dive sites. Down side They should have cover-up the 2m by 1m glass window at the TOP that allow too much light to the room, which is way above the original eye level windows. I noticed there are 3…

I spent just one night in this hotel and it was very nice. The beach is not far, and the atmosphere exotic. The comfort of the rooms next to the reception is rudimentary but ok. It's clean. For a better experience, book a bungalow with a sea view, I think the rooms are more comfortable.

It was my first time to Tioman but a second time for my husband. He had been to Salang but he left the choice to me to decide on where to stay at Tioman. After reading the good reviews and received recommendation by a friend, we decided to try Swiss Cottage, which is located at Kampung Tekek. It turned out to be a great choice. Swiss Cottage is suitable for nature lovers who prefer a laid back kampong (village) style environment with modern facilities like aircon, wifi and hot shower. The resort is facing a beautiful beach where you can enjoy the sand, sea and sunset. For water adventure lovers, there is a scuba diving and a freediving centre within the compound. You can also do snorkelling or stand up paddling. Breakfast of the day is provided, prepared and served when you…

So we took a getaway to the south-east part of Malaysia, Tioman island. This was my second visit to Swiss Cottage - it was good then and it was very good this time around. Located at the far end of Tekek with a quiet, clean and almost private beach I consider this place to be the best place to stay in Tioman. Rooms are simple, clean and the beds are good. Some wear&tear on the bathrooms but nothing to complain about. Breakfast is a little light for an active day so if you're planning on going diving or hiking in the morning, either pay the little extra for a heavier meal or stop by a grocery store. Service is always happy and friendly - everyone smiles. Staff is helpful and accommodating and will assist you with anything. Some critique goes to the shower system as the water…

We had a lovely stay at the Swiss Cottage in Tioman. People looking for creature comforts and 5 star service should look for one of the big hotels on the island. However, Swiss Cottage is clean, comfortable and convenient. The staff are friendly, the food excellent even if the menu never changes and everything is reasonably priced. It felt like time stood still during our visit. No need to stress about anything, the kids can play on the beach, play with the cats and watch the animal life all around. The reef and dive center are located within the same hotel compound, their are delicious restaurants and mini markets within 5 minutes walk. I hope to return again in the future, we really enjoyed our stay.

My partner and I stayed for 4 nights in a chalet right at the beach. Room size was ok, unfortunately there was no storage possible. Mosquito net was provided but had a hole. Plus point to the air con, as it gets quite hot inside. We enjoyed mostly the hammock on the front porch. Free water, coffee and tea may be picked up at reception area. They serve everyday a different breakfast which is super delicious but rather small portion. Extra breakfast cost only RM4. Beach and sea invite for sun bathing and swimming. BE AWARE of sandflies (they are everwhere on tioman island)! My partner got stings all over his body at the first day that are still very itchy a couple of days later. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The cats like to get pet ;-) All in all we enjoyed our stay very…

We booked this hotel since we were going to do a freediving course that was connected to the hotel. It was really a great stay. They are very relaxed and friendly. At the end of the village so you might get visits from monkeys like we did. A lot of cats. They care a lot about their cats here. Really good snorkeling just on the beach and for a low price they can bring you to wonderful reefs, like coral island. The freediving course was great. Wonderful people that really care that are responsible for the course.

We highly recommend a stay at the Swiss Cottage Hotel! Our room (Garden View Chalet) was comfortable with a well-functioning AC and water heater. Loved how it was right next to the beach as well! The staff, especially Stella were extremely friendly and helpful. Enjoyed lounging at the reception area, as I got to meet the other hotel guests. Breakfast was great and was very grateful for the 24-hour supply of coffee and tea. Overall, a very pleasant stay and would definitely try to come back!
