Very basic accommodation with a restaurant within the compound which faces the sea. A nice place to chill out after a full day of diving. This place is affiliated to Tioman Reef Divers which is under the NAUI school. Next door is Swiss Cottage Resort which is affiliated to Tioman Dive Centre which is under the PADI school. So its really convenient whichever school you decide to enroll in.

Stayed here for my dive course. Room had one double bed and one single bed; was clean and bathroom decent, but the beds are a bit old so quite can feel the springs.
Plus point is that it's next to the Tioman Reef Dive Centre, so walking is minimal ! Food was quite good !

I like the food although basic. It seems hygenic and nice. The restaurant is situated right on the beach. However could have been much more cosy! I can recommend their ginger beef and juices. But neon light and plastic chairs just does not do anything good to the place!

I have been coming to this resort just because it is part of Tioman Reef Diver Weekend Leisure Dives package. The standard room that I stays in is small with AC and without coffee making facility, no hot shower, fan not working and no wardrobe. I cannot blame them as the price for that room is also cheap, RM88 per night. Beside the resort is a privately owned chinese seafood restaurant (halal - according to resort staff) and a privately owned dive centre known as Tioman Reef Diver. The only facility that resort have beside the room is souvenir and bicycle rental shop. All the shortfall didn't bother me as I am not staying in the room for whole day as the main reason I keep on coming to Tioman Island is for scuba diving and enjoy the beach . Most of the time I spent at Tioman is underwater (openwater), beach, boat and dive centre. Who want to enjoy a room and resort facility at an Island that is famous with good beach, scuba diving and snorkeling?

Stayed at this Hotel as diving with Tioman Reef divers which is affiliated. It's a basic hotel but also not expensive with friendly staff. It was fine for us and suited us well. We stayed in the most expensive room D,Nara in a newer block on the seafront with a lovely view (205 RM a night). They have cheaper older rooms as well with only fans if that's what you want.
Hotel restaurant was ok but we mostly ate at the seafood BBQ about 5 miles walk. Turn left when you leave the Hotel and walk 5 mins. First a duty free where you can buy cold beer, wine etc then a Chinese restaurant followed by a Malay restaurant BBQ. The Malay one was by far the better, nice menu if you don't like seafood. You can bring your beer in and drink your own alcohol as they don't serve in the restaurant but will give you a glass and no corkage cost. We bought food and soft drinks there but had our own beer.

Room Tip: New rooms on the beach are the nicest, Longhouse rooms are very old.

Paid 88 RM/night for a single room, which is cheapish considering were on an island. The staff were very helpful but the room was pretty bad with no hot water, no wifi and water constantly leaking from the sink.

AC worked fine but was old a made a lot of noisy. Breakfast was simple but ok and included in the price.

Stayed here for 4 nights while diving on Tioman. It's the furthest hotel from the pier in Tekek (about 15 minutes walk), but right next door to Tioman Diving Centre. Room (203) was painted a garish green but was clean and comfortable enough. A/C worked fine, wifi worked in the room, bathroom was clean and the hot shower worked fine. The in-room safety deposit box didn't work. They replaced it for me and the replacement didn't work either. I couldn't be bothered to report it a second time. Reception staff were helpful and spoke enough English. The dining room was only open for lunch and dinner and the food and staff were OK.

For 2013 they don't have their own transport but can arrange a taxi to/from the pier if required. A taxi to the pier cost me MYR 5. The room was MYR 120 per night which seemed to be the going rate for an A/C room. They had fan rooms (cold water shower) for MYR 50 per night.

the resort was ok, nothing too good or too bad to shout about. I was there for a diving trip with colleagues, and stayed in the 2-single bed long house (chalet), room 101. the room was of decent size with basic amenities. towels provided n changed daily. there were both fan n aircond in the room. ensuite
bathroom was clean.. had
an accident on the first day. one of the wooden flooring in front of the room was damaged and there was a hole at the corner of the verandah, that caused large bruise on my calf when I stepped into the hole.. the location was good, near the jetty n tioman airport. attached to a dive centre, the tioman reef divers, cool people!! the breakfast spread was only bread n fried noodle, so don't expect a lot of variety. after all, it's not a luxury 5* hotel.. for the price and for diving, this place is ok..

Room, we had the best view which facing the beach. Room is clean air-cond is provided but not very cold and too bad they dun even provide fan so call the best room we had. And most of the plug not function and we got to figure out all the plug in the room.

Unpleasant staff from the cafe. We was enjoying beer with friends at the open space facing the beach and Warn by a very unpleasant staff from the hotel restaurant to ask us clean up the space. Feeling like living in a military camp!

Dun even seen a single beach chair provided by the hotel for sun bath for such a nice spot.

Breakfast Is sucks!

This resort was recommended by my friend whom is a diver, we went here for our holiday, all 5 guys. FYI, Tioman island is a duty-free island where you can buy cheap alcohol & cigarettes however the chocolates are not so cheap, i guess its not worth to buy. the sign "duty-free" just acts as gimmick. btw, imported beers & liquor are cheap! e.g Hoegaarden(small bottle) RM6 only!

Babura resort is near to berjaya resort(tekek) you can actually walk from the jetty, but can also take their shuttle van service. Once there check in was smooth as we have booked all our accomodation through AKIMI from the diving centre there (TIOMAN REEF DIVERS)

This place is full most of the weekends so better book early!

Best part about the resort is the DIVING CENTRE, they are very friendly. Run by Reeno & Akimi. the beach was good, you can actually snorkel right from beach. Although the reef there arent so good, but for beginners its a training spot. They can arrange you diving lesson & courses.

The Rooms: we took long house with air cond, it was very basic, small but good enough. The toilet was very clean, at RM88/night thr's nothing much we can expect here. but i like the verandah of the long house, there was table & chairs to chill outside.

The Service: again ,in a very cheap accommodation service is not important, we just need a bed to sleep, and thats all...very average service.

The Restaurant: In the resort there is a seaview restaurant called "Tsingtao". A Chinese restaurant which serve very very BAD food. Accommodation here comes with FREE breakfast but guess what? the restaurant serves lousiest & most horrible breakfast! There will be bread, butter & kaya. + fried rice/mee/kuey teow which taste horrible! The owner is also very rude & not attentive or helpful. I would recommend you to go out for breakfast,(near jetty)

*This place are more to Divers spot, if you are thinking about leisure & party you should stay at SALANG it is much happening over thr.

Overall the hotel was good. We was satisfied which is worth the money paid. If you are going for DIVING, Then call the diving centre, she can book you hotel stay & diving.
